G'day all I found this article in todays Melbourne Herald-Sun

King Herrod builds brute ute (http://carsguide.news.com.au/news/story_page/0,82 69,9734097%255E21822,00.html)

Basically Rod Herrod & DJR have built a 320 Ute to compliment the sedan

For $85k you can have a 320kw ute, which is pretty big money for a ute, but this is a DJR vehicle.....

What was interesting is that there is a 450kw Supercharger option, just in case you feel underpowered with 320kw :D !!!

Oh if you feel that your a little underpowered with 320kw, there's a 450kw Supercharger option avaliable for $15k - now that could put you in 911 type performance for about 1/2 the price, provided you can get it to the ground with the 19inch Dunlops....

Hey Trev & co...., how about a DJR 320 series collection ????

cheers. :)

all i can say is

I WANT ONE.....of each !!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

I agree a 1:18 collection of the 320's would be great for thoes of us that can only dream of having something like them parked in our driveway.

The only way one will be in my drive way is if dick comes for dinner....lol

I used to wonder why utes even came with metallic paint.... Now I am wondering why they need superchargers.

85K is a lot of money when there are gonna be scrapes, dents, bits of rust, spilt paint and concrete around the back... Oh but wait, maybe people have forgotten that "ute" is short for utility. Maybe it should be called a "fute" for futility.

seems cool when you first look at it then you remeber what utes are used for:p

is the supercharger available with the DJR 320 sedan?

There was no mention of it, but I would suspect in time it would be.

I seem to rember Dick talking about the Ford vs Holden rally to the Clipsal 500 & how he would have something special for 2005 to give Brock a pasting.....perhaps a supercharged sedan will be his wepon of choice ???

I just wonder at $85k how many utes they are expecting to sell, as it's not the sort of thing you would want to take on the job site......

cheers. :)

Funny thing is I see lots of SS Commode Utes & XR8 & 6 Utes being used for work. Mainly Fruit & Veg. type of thing (the odd Hairdresser) & a few Foreman-type Builders, but for work, nonetheless. Show-Ponies (in a 1 to 1 1/2 Tonne sense) that they are.
As for the DJR Ute, how the hell are you going to control 320kw at the back wheels of a Ute, let alone 450kw!!?? Without 1/2 a Tonne of cement bags in the back, that is.:D
