Thanks Ferrari Fan. The reason i asked is that i would give anything for biante to make all of these models. i also remember two black xc running around amaroo park in 1979. One with litwo lime green stripes and an other with pink stripes. The green i thought it was willimgtons car but the pink i am not sure( Leo Loenard? Maybe).

Release date and numbers sold of the P6 red and grey Town Cars. Did they have the 9 inch diff????
Other than typical head lights fitted to RPO 83 Falcons,
Ability to organise and catergorize that vast library,
Colour of under side of Ford K frames,
How many XC Fairmont GXL coupes were made,
The difference between '76 ZH Fairlanes and '77 ZH Fairlanes

Seems that PAULL also is a very knowledgable forum member, because I presume that he does know all the anwsers to the Q's he has posted.
When some of us do have a pertinent Q, we will know where to knock on the door.
Thank you Paull

No, not at all Bert. I am quite simply awaiting with baited breath for the 'All Knowledgabe One' to answer these ever so simple questions, that's all.

The green striped one I was reliably informed was the Willmington car (one of those in 1:18 please!) and the pink striped one was the Leo Leonard car (one of those as well!) which blew up at Bathurst 1979.

theres two paint schemes i like on the xc race cars but i dont rember who drove them. one was white with red stripes #35 i think. and it had smash brothers repair on the front fenders.
the other one looked like moffats but had k-tel as a sponser.
murrays xc is a must have also. i to love the xb & xc falcon race cars the best. they just look so bloody awesome!!!:D

Didn't they all at Bathurst, apart from Dicks crash, in 1979.
I mentioned an a previous thread that Trax have just released
the Willminton XC (Black with green stripes) 1:43 scale.
It's a great model and Trax have finally put fat racing tyres on
rather than the thin bike tyres on their previous XC models.
I have to agree with Ferrari Fan about the Ford Racing in Aust book
it covers everything on those great racing days of the 60's, 70's, 80's & 90's with some great images. I got mine for $7 at the Motoring Bookstore in Cremorne Sydney but unfortunatly this store closed late last year.

It would be nice to have a model of Rod Donovan's XC as he used to be the local Ford dealer in my town, the Dealership is still named after him. He was a top bloke who lived life to the full.

I do hope you can hold your breath for a VERY long time, and if you start more of this sarcasm be sure to receive some back
If I have said something wrong ,then I appologise , but do not have a go at my friend Graeme, even if he asked you about the skinny wheels/200c/i capacity on a FORD in a different topic.
Just keep it nice and pleasant, without a challenge for the sake of a challenge.
Your "ever so simple questions' are designed to create a brawl, none of us here at the forum are in the slightest bit interested in it.

There used to be a yellow XC (I believe) Hardtop ex-racer getting around Adelaide. I used to see it commuting to work a few years ago, going down the old (twisty) freeway. The car was predominantly yellow with some black on it and the number 51. I have had a look at the Bathurst videos and limited books that I have but can't spot it. Tho' there is a yellow car in the background of one shot.
Anyone with any ideas as to what this car may be?

F Fan,
Paull is a mid-seventies Ford devotee in the process of collecting every 351-engined product of that era.
He once owned the only Ford XC Fairmont GXL 5.8 Hardtop ever made and is mourning it's loss by purchasing as many other Fords as possible to take it's place. If you ever put a 351 in your XB Fairmont Hardtop, be watchful for Paull as he may make you an offer you can't refuse ... just put GXL badges on it !!

Well then all is forgiven:)
We all have sold bits, cars, motorbikes etc, that we regret.
I for one had aircooled 250/350 racebikes and RG500's that I dearly would have now.
I cannot get to put GLX badges on a stately Fairmont now can I?
Nor am I willing to sell at any price either, to much fun in having it .

Rex555, my mate Simon reported the same yellow XC to me (2000, and I was in the process of looking to buy a hardtop), and he saw it on the way to the Port. It was going in the opposite direction, and by the time he turned round he'd lost it (and he was late for work as a result!). When I sell the Cobra I'll be on the lookout for him!
And how many of AmonFan's list would make good models? I'd have 'em all!

AmonFan,
To my memory (not always reliable), Ron Lindau's XB/XC only ran in WA's 'Street Car' class and never in a round of the ATCC. In that class there were many tussles with Wayne Negus in the Marlboro HDT A9X during 1978/79 - real door handle stuff, not unlike the push and barge of V8 Supercars today.
Wayne's car had all the Group C bits, such that he simply bolted on the radial tyre Hotwires to run in the Street Car events. The class rules were pretty broad, but supposedly all cars were meant to be road-registered or capable of being so, and accordingly had to run 'street' radial tyres.

Thanks Graeme,
Quite a few easter state guys had run Grp C cars on radials there in the 70s, Bond, Brock, Morris etc, have some great pictures of sideways motoring by the likes of Lindau, Negus, Wilkinson, Diffen and co, and Vic Watson in the XY.
