the Annual Mega Toy Swapmeet Is on in Adelaide next weekend . Sat. 12th & Sun. 13th of June . in the Jubilee hall of the Adelaide Show Grounds. Adults $4 . Conc.$3.50 child.$1 Under 12 Free .

This may be one of the biggest sales for diecast models I've seen , Last year the hall was packed out with so many stalls you could barely get around .

So many bargains to be had it was unreal , there wasn't a diecast brand or type of vehicle that wasn't there . not only were there shops from all over australia with bargain prices and show specials , there are huge amounts of private sellers.

There will be a model hotrod display in the foyer entrance to the pavillion , also on display will be a 1941 Willy's Radio control Blown Hotrod (66cm long) From the USA .

This is the 10th Anniversary & to commemorate it there will be a Matchbox model of yesteryear 1/43 scale Holden FX ute with the tenth anniversary megatoy swapmeet logo's On it . This is a Ltd. edition of 100 Models & available somewhere there.

This is a once a year opportunity to get those sought after models you want at fantastic prices & to Barter with the private sellers for some Bargain prices .

I for one will make the most of this Fantastic opportunity as I did last year , the only problem I had last year was not enough money for so many brilliant models . (I'd spent nearly all my money then saw a moffat 65E Mib for $350 , I Was Kicking myself & Still can't believe I missed this absolute Bargain)

you never know what you might find at a sale like this ?
So for those in Adelaide or nearby this is one sale you don't want to miss !

I have nothing to do with this sale , I was just so impressed by last years turnout that I thought I'd let people Know about it .
To those who can go , I hope you enjoy it & Grab some bargains.

Cheers

Jim..

anybody there who will have a table? and will want to carry the decals as well?
I will send over ample supplies, and we can work out a deal.
I cannot be in Adelaide due to the Supercar round here in Perth.
PM me please.
this could be another avenue to give collectors a chance to customise their models, and not be dictated by Big Brother.

Noted today at the Model Sale/Swapmeet here in adelaide a small number of stalls/shops with limited amounts of prototype utes for sale . saw a few people were buying them .
Priced at ....$250 .

Most highly sought after collectables were at their worth value or rediculous prices , There were some bargains to be had from a few shops/stalls .
I managed to score myself a few Bargains which was great . :D

I didn't think there were as many stalls this year as there were last year but all in all it was still a good turnout .

Unfortunately I had to leave a few models there I wanted , as usual it was a case of not enough money . :(

I'd be interested to hear what other people who went thought and whether they managed to scoop some bargains or models they were seeking .

Cheers

I attended the show today and i must say i thought there would have been more stalls there. Anyway i though it opened at 9am so i got there at 9:15 but it worked out good as there was roughly 100 people in front of me. But 9:45 the line was huge.
Sherriffs rip off cars was there with his always "cheap prices". There weren’t many bargains but i managed to get some as i knew the stall owners. Here is what i picked up

1:18 Dick Johnson "Rock Car" $110
1:18 2004 Brock Targa Tasmania Monaro $100
1:18 Audi Le-mans Adelaide Crocodile Car $45
1:43 Skaife ATCC $15
1:36 Corgi Lock Stock And Two Smoking Barrels $35
Also getting a few 1:64, 1:43 and 1:18 cars next week from one of the stall holders.

My bargain of the day
1:18 1992 Bathurst Winner Skaife/Richards Skyline. Although it has no box or coa the car was mint. Didn’t really bother me if it didn’t have a box or coa as im not going to sell it just put in a cabinet and i have always wanted this car but at a reasonable price. The guy wanted $100 and i offered $80 and he said ok. I was wrapped.
Also bought a few AFL figures and Simpsons figurines.

Im my opinion it was ok no real bargains about like old 1:18 Biante V8 Supercars for $50 which i wish there was but it wasn’t bad.

What bargains did you pick up castkrazy?

Teambrock 50 , sounds like you did pretty well with your purchases . i reckon you definately got a bargain with that '92 Bathurst winner , for that price you could certainly overlook having no coa or box . If I had of seen it I would snapped it up for sure .
You did extremely well with the johnson & brock car as well considerin they haven't been out for that long , It just goes to show it pays to haggle on the price .

I didn't get there until well after 11 o'clock , unfortunately I didn't have bugger all money due to a quite a few recent model purchases which I got cheaper than were at the sale anyway , so at least I wasn't dissapointed with that .
My recent purchases were 1/43 richards $35 , 1/43 Lowndes $35 , first shot prototype $130 , longhurst /mazera sierra $148 , The four Johnson Classic Tourers in 1/64 $14 ea. and 2004 targa for $13 .

At the sale I purchased a Chivas/Beck charger for $130 and a Tander/Bargwana bathurst winner For $60 , a few sought after minicars for $10 each and six older 1/64 scale V8 S/cars cheap .
All were brand new from dealers , a bit of price haggling helped and I suppose my bargain for the day was the charger .

I think It would have been good for people who customise V8 supercars as I saw a lot of tander and bargwana cars for $50. I see what you mean saying there were a lot of high prices , I think that a lot of people are aware of the value of models these days and try to cash in on that .

Anyhow Good to see you got some Great stuff you're happy with.

Cheers

This hobby certainly gives the finances a good workout But at the end of the day if it makes us happy its definately worth it ..
