Do you guys think '%$#@!!' when discovering a tiny blemish on your models - such as a side decal torn off a little (Monaro, GTS etc) and barely superficial scratches on the windows/paintwork that admittedly only you would notice, but others can't?
Mate, I'm guilty as charged. Just wanted to know how 'passionate' you guys are with your collections, and whether I'm the oddity.
The sad thing is I am like that with my real car as well. You know how they say that after a couple of years you won't even notice that door dent...
Well I can tell you exactly where every little scratch or chips has come from and when it was put there. They also stand out like dogs thingies every time I see them.
So as for model cars, man I am the worst....

Rally cars are the worst! After discovering a tiny lifting of decal (and tearing it after an attempt of re-application) you just want to get rid of the model and buy another PERFECT one.
So.............I'm the worst!!
By the way, I've never owned an Aust. touring car model, so what are the tampos and decals like on these?
Thanks

nice to see i'm not the only person like this .
my wife thinks I'm fussy because I'm very perticular about my models and my 1/1 cars .
she's always having a go at me when I buy a new model because I inspect it thoroughly before purchasing it , Making sure there are no faults or defects and I'm not happy until I get a model I'm satisfied with.
But as I say to her , I spend a lot of money collectively on my model collection so I want them to be in the best Quality condition I can get .
I now point out the Quality defects to her when perchasing models so she understands what i'm looking for and doesn't critisize me , after a while she noticed how you can get a eye for picking defects that the average person wouldn't be aware of .
If this is extremely fussy , then I am Indeed Guilty ...
My wife came in as i'd finished typing this post , read it and LOL and said I'm worse than guilty ! What can I say ?
Cheers Guys ,
Jim .

I'm like you guys and inspect my models thoroughly before purchasing. I'm lucky I have a VERY understanding retailer.
However, for those of us that are fussy there must be others that aren't as otherwise the model makers would be swamped with returns.

Unfortunately, I make many of my purchases online, so I have to live with small imperfections. However, I am sometimes lucky enough to find a model at a local retailer. You'll ALWAYS find imperfections with your model if you're looking for it.

Just out of interest, I looked at my Brock/Skaife 97 Commodore VS, and noticed the rear-wing was lopsided. Does anyone else's do this?

I thought I was bad...then during my recent un-anticipated vacation I got my old Kmart plastic fantastic 1:24 or 1:18 scale VK out and gave it a quick respray for the little "nearly 3" tyke to play with...
Then it started...
Dad, it's got no seats...how do they steer with no steering wheel...where's the number plate...the hub-caps don't have lions on them...etc etc etc
I think he's going to be pretty bad when it comes to damaged decals, paint blemishes etc...;)
Cheers

man, you guys should never try to make your own kit model cars. i've done a few (mostly big scales), and you can spend months on them if you're fussy... gets annoying hey, i spend months and no-one can even tell what i've done!
then i spray the body: primer, 4-5 coats of colour, 2-3 coats clear, polishing compund and then car wax. i even used meguirs tyre gel to make the tyres black. My gf reckons i've got a screw loose. My 1:1 car is the same, every time i wash it i wish i had $30k to fix every little thing. OCD is a bugger!:o
