View Full Version : Model Query

I could never differentiate between Biante and CC before I came to the 'premium collecting' scene several months back. After viewing on the website, what I'd like to know is whether all the CC road cars have the driver's side window partly wound down, which I now realise differentiates the two. Are they like this on both sides? Just asking as I'm after the concept utester, and without a cabinet, would have to place them on the shelves which will collect interior dust for sure. I'd love to experience potential purchases first hand before buying them, but my location up bush often discourages this.
PLEASE, no slinging matches here, as I don't want to establish one. I'm a new member here, but have been visiting long enough to realise this. I'm just after genuine answers to my query, and after all, this is a forum for model car hobbyists.

yes... the utester's drivers side window is partially down..

Depending on how many models you want to put on the shelf you might want to buy some AUTO ART 1/18 clear display cases, about $20 each and put your cars inside. They are completely dust proof and are available through the Biante website or from your nearest retailer. I have three that are on top of my display cabinets that new arrivals go in so that I can enjoy looking at them before they park next to something else.

best bet if you are intending to collect "premium" models that you either invest in some type of dustproof cases, as mentioned in the previous post, or a cabinet or leave them in their boxes until you do.

Gillick, most if not all of biantes cars have both front windows down which was good because you could open the doors easily enough.
Classics on the other hand only had one window down, which meant you would have to open the drivers door then stick your finger or their special tool through the car to push open the passenger side door.
The CC Magenta Charger had wind up windows which was another gimmick which has not been used since.
The Chivas/Beck charger has the driver side down because thats how the car was when it raced.
This is not the only difference between the cars.
If you have a look on the CC Gold GT is has little springs for the bonnet supports and even on one of the race mustangs it has the key in the ignition.
Well, welcome to the forums and I hope this sort of answers you initial question.
Cheers

LOL.
Actually, I discovered I can grab one for $170 at AM, though I think I'll save my money this time. I know Biante has the VY SS ute around the corner, and the Maloo not far behind. I hope anyway.

mate CC are also doing a Phantom Mica VU SS ute that is supposedly due sometime this year so that is another choice over the hyper mica if you want one.

They aren't completely dustproof, I spend a half-hour every two weeks or so cleaning models that live in these clear display cases. IMHO unless you're living in a dust-free house, your models will never be completely dust-free.
