What is the update on the SMART car along with the two Holden police vehicles that were part of the Mini Cars?

I wouldn't be holding your breath for these, some have been Development Approved for more than 12 months. :(

There has been no offical listing for the smart minicar to date(even thought it has been spoken about on the forum).

I also wonder that perhaps it's been so long (since the model was announced to it actually being made) because admin might have told us about this car before any of the tooling, development, etc...., had begun.

Remember it does take close to a year (even more in some cases)from starting with an idea to actually getting it out in the shops & that's without any problems......

That said, it would be good to hear an update on the status of this model, but considering what's on in Perth this weekend, I wouldn't expect to hear anything for a few days.

I just wonder with all the other projects that have been going on at present (2004 V8's, new Ba's & VY's & all the other releases), that it just has not got to the top of the to do list yet.

At least it'll give you more time to save up the $$$'s :D !!!

I hear what your saying Brad. I remember that someone from Biante (I don't think it was Trevor) saying that an announcement was going to be made soon regarding the future police cars (if any) that Biante are doing.

I do remember Trevor posting about 14 to 15 months ago that there were two Holden police cars that were planned as part of the mini car series. Apparently some problems have been encountered with the castings of the light bars.

I guess with the two Vic police cars, its pretty much a case of Biante spoiling us with details of future releases way way in advance. Even though the cars been listed for over 14 months, I still admire Biante letting us know what is coming.

On the subject of police cars. It would be great to see Biante do what Vanguard do. Vanguard make damn good 1/43 scale European cars from the 60's to present. Much as Biante do with Aussie cars. As part of their line they release around 4 to 8 police versions of these cars per year (they are releasing a NSW Police Mini in November) It would be awesome to see Biante do something similar, perhaps 4 police versions in either 1/64 or 1/43 per year. Plus the odd 1/18 scale.
