I had a look at the newly released 1:43 car recently, and I can't remember back to 2000 and recall whether the DJR cars ran Dunlop signs on the Bridgestone tyres.
I wonder whether it was done to pay tribute to his long time sponsors.

From memory Dick's Falcon never ran Bridgstone on his tyres, due to him having Dunlop signage on his cars, trucks etc.....
However I seem to recall seeing Dunlop on some of his models, which would suggest that he did have Dunlop on the Bridgstones....
cheers.
ps i can't wait until we get the 1:18 :D !!!

V8SCs ran control Bridgestones in the 1999, 2000 and 2001 seasons. Sadly, 1998 was the last year of tyre competition.
The Biante version of this car has the new Holden style splitter on it, but the CC's version has the old style splitter, whose the correct?

drof,
The only difference between the front of the Biante and CC version of the AU I and II front spoliers are the central web. Even though Biante removed it, they didn't actually update the shape of the rest of spoiler. So neither spoilers are true depictions of the Qld 500 car's. Take a look at an AUTOart Commodore or a CC 2002 Falcon to see what the thing is supposed to look like.
I've also had a quick squizz through mags, books and the net, and I can't find a pic of the Qld 500 car with Dunlop signs on the tyres. Hopefully, the 1:18 car doens't have these markings.

considering the 1:43 verson has Dunlop on the tyres, I would expect the bigger one to have it as well - I've got to say though, that I can't imagine Biante getting this one wrong, as it's not that long ago & there is plenty of images on the net of this car.
cheers. :)

Come to think of it, I've done a bit of a search on the DJR website & I must admit Gan could be right on the tyre signage front.
But then again, Dick might have asked Biante to put Dunlop on the car, considering his long association with them, just like he did with the HAAS logo on the rear wing of the 2003 cars.
cheers. :)

Brad,
My theory on the 1:43s slip-up is that the guys at the factory must have had left over AU wheels from the 2002 DJR V8SCs. They probably threw them on the Qld500 car.

When you think about it, it was a good thing because for the most of it, Bridgestone had the better tyre.

I preferred it when there were Toyos, Pirellis, Yokos, Dunlops and Bridgies.
Competition soon separates the stars from the duds.
