Just wondering if admin could tell us how many 1:18 HRT VY Commodores will be made of Mark Skaife and Todd Kelly?
Cheers

I also noticed on the site that the 1:64 2004 VY of Jason Bright and Greg Murphy are in production. When can we expect these admin?
Also a date for the 1:18 2003 VY Commodore Murphy/Kelly Bathurst Winner?

If you received last weeks newsletter it said that the bathurst winner will be out around the end of this month.;)

At the moment on the HRT cars for 2003 I think the answer is three. Todd and Mark regular season cars and Sandown 500 winner.
Can't wait for 'em!

I think teambrock50 meant production numbers. Admin said in the newsletter that numbers will be limited. I'll be ordering mine as soon as it comes in stock. Been waiting ages for this model.
Hopefully we'll see the 2004 HRT cars in 1:18th before the end of the year as well.

That does seem to be a problem nowadays. Alot of the 3000-5000 issue releases are languishing at low prices. This is for both manufacturers. I do realise though they do have to make certain numbers to recoup their investment though.

I guess no news is good news so going by last weeks newsletter, the Skaife and Kelly cars should go from In Transit to In Stock later today.
I'm working late (NZ time difference) so I can order one tonight. I hope they haven't been delayed.

Both the M.Skaife & T.Kelly 2003 models are limited to 3000 pieces each.

In response to the cost of these models. There is no doubt is was human error given the amount of manufacturers/models that Biante handle as a wholesaler. The wholesale cost of my stock was higher, and the flow on will be reflected on the retail price at your local stockist. Hopefully your retailer will not charge you more than $160.00.

I thought when they said they were going to be very limited i thought that would be 1000 to 2000 max. Really 3000 is a fair amount. I wonder how many K-Mart 2003 1:18 Bathurst VY Commodores will be produced?

V8SS
17-06-2004, 04:13 AM
Theres only 1000 of the Sandown winner being made so it had to be more than that. There was 3000 of the Lowndes/Murphy VR so maybe there will be a similar amount made of the Murphy/Kelly VY. The Lowndes/Murphy is still readily available on ebay.

They are limited as far as HRT cars are concerned

The other years were :

1999 7020 & 4584
2000 8838 & 8646
2001 6000 & 4998
2002 5000 & 3000

Ordered my Skaife car last night. Thank goodness for the watchlist e-mail. I was planning to work late (due to NZ time difference) but at about 5-10pm, I got an e-mail to say that this model was now in stock.
Now have that usual excited anticipation waiting for my new model to arrive.
Will be interesting to see what Biantes new VY looks like.

It is a very nice model i think the VY shape suits the colour and style of the HRT cars i would be suprised if they become hard ot get as none of the other hrt cars are. My only critisicm of the car is that it sits way to high i have it along side my CC ambrose which has a much more realistic stance the biante car does not sit as per the real race car i also think the front xbox stickers do not look right they are either too big or too high.

Y2Joel
17-06-2004, 02:23 PM
Has anybody seen the CC's VY Commodores yet? I haven't, but I can't wait to see either Biantes or theirs to see how they measure up. I think I might get a Skaifey.

the CC photos look good the car seems to be sitting nice and low as per the cars at barbagallo last weekend the biante hrt does not sit like the real car did. unless they photographed it on the air jacks.

RMM - that is ashame about the height of the car, because there was a thread about BIANTE fixing the ride height so it looked lower similar to the Murphy/Lowndes Commodore.. bummer.. guess they didn't fix it after all... :(

The Todd Kelly car on display at Triking had the air shocks up as well on the rear end.

Is this just the prototype on display or is the production model lower ?

wow!! thanks for the great pics Malik. that makes my 2002 vx skaife look obsolete. other than the stance being a little high the car is awesome. i like the 2004 paint scheme but the 2003 is sweet. personaly i liked the 1999 & 2002 paint schemes the best.
im definatly going to get a 2004 version. i may get this one or a kelly if funds permit. biante has done the vy justice on this model.
once again thank you Malik:D

biante2959, did the Lions Den Mt Druitt really get theirs yesterday (friday?)

i wish I had've known that because I'm always in there and I ordered mine on Thursday and still waiting (probably Friday)

I think I might visit them when the Skaife/Kelly car comes out because its also 150 bucks, compared to the $170 I just paid for it to come directly from Biante

then again if I get a low COA number I'm happy:)

Hey guys,
I've just read through this thread and browsed through Malik's pics (a mighty big thanks to you, Malik for bring such a good sport). Truthfully, I'm unpleasantly surprised.

In comparison from these pics, CC's VY looks much better than Biante product, which judging from photos alone doesn't represent that huge of jump in terms of level of detail from the previous generation of VT/VX models.

However, in order to form a final opinion, I would like to ask a couple questions:

1) Has the bare interior of VT/VX been updated to at least Biante's AU Faclon standard?

2) Is the packaging still of "window"-style type?

3) Does the model feel too "plasticky" (a common malaise of AutoArt products)?

Not looking to start a fight, but given that Biante has license to the best Holden teams, including HRT, K-Mart and PWR, I have been expecting Holden models to be on the level with Biante's Ford as well as Classic Carlectables models since there a price parity between two brands whne it comes to V8 Supercar models.

Regards,

Sergey

I'll reserve my judgement, but like berkut from what I could see I'm a bit dissapointed. The tailights look like they lack detail. Maybe it's just the photo but I won't be buying one of these till I see more pictures of it.

berkut thats what i was trying to ask in a previous post. if the chassis, interior, under hood & bonnet detail has been updated
from the vx standards. the vt & vx from biante looks plasticy and not as detailed as there au falcons or classics vx for that part.
with biante having the best holden teams licensed i thought they
would atleast raise the level of detail up to the au falcon standards. the biante commodores looks good in the cabnet with the other cars. its only upon close inspection people notice the difference in small details. but if you turn a classic holden & a biante holden over beside each other theres a world of difference.
maybe thats the reason for the price gap between the two companys. i will try to put up a link to my webshots page to show you what im reffering to.

im not trying to start a fight, i would just like these issues adressed. as i like the hrt & k-mart team cars. i just wish that biante could raise the detail level on the commodore.

depends.... the VE Commodore is supposedly due out around the end of 2006

and there's apparently a VZ coming out towards the end of this year to early/mid next year.. supposed to be mainly cosmetic changes only but might be enough to force another change in mould.

To add to that. The 3000 Skaife cars sold out pretty quickly and only 1000 Sandown cars are being made in both 1:18th and 1:43rd. Luckily, I'm only after a 1:43rd version.

Thanks for the pics Malik the car looks pretty good. Good to see the VYs starting to come out.

BUT is it just me or am I getting too picky now-a-days??? When the VYs first hit the track one of the first things I noticed on the body kit was the huge curve at the front of the side skirt - the side skirt on the model looks the same as the VT-VX?!

Other than the 4WD ride height the model looks pretty good overall.

Hi Goldie,
First of all, I think Biante have done a fantastic job with the VY model. I looked at my Skaife car last night and compared it to pictures of the real thing. The side skirts on the model are definitely different to the VX ones but a difference I have noticed is that the skirt on the real car had the bottom edge planed off flat. i.e it looks like someone has planed a flat edge against the side.
The other difference and I'm probably being picky is that the top corners on the front splitter (where the Biante logo is) seem a bit too deep. On the real car, there is a bigger gap between the "bump" and the XBOX logo.
I don't care to compare these with any CC versions as at the end of the day, I think Biante have made a fantastic representation of the car. Well done.

Thanks for clearing up the confusion of why there was no confirmation emails Trevor.
All of those that placed an order can now be happy that their ordered models are safe.

I'm not saying they haven't got the detail, I have most that they have listed, it's just the prices are a fair bit more than if you shop around. Some are more than $40 above their release price!

Good site I agree but their prices are still too high, like the Longhurst AU for $160, I just bought it delivered for $61, never opened.

Name of the game is shop around, heaps of retailers mentioned in here, try them all I say. Just watch out for postage and handling costs, this can blow a price out too.

Cheers
