I think it looks mean from the front, but then the XR FALCON range has allways been the best looking aus car on the road.;)

the basic new ford ute looks good also.
I was flicking through the Auto Trader and caught a glimpse of the pictures of the yellow/gold XR and at first thought it was some kind of Commodore mainly due to the colour which is similar to the colour of the VX SS. Not being a Ford person, I haven't taken much notice of the new Ford which to me still looks similar to the AU apart from new front and rear light treatment. I also have a funny feeling that the VY Commodore and BA Falcon are going to look as similar as they ever have. The new Falcons tail lights are very similar to the VX lights and I think the standard front of the new Falcon is close to what the VY will look like. Hopefully, the Ford V8 Supercar will adopt the XR front or spectating could get very confusing.

ok, no offence to you ford guys, but i think the xr8 looks kind of tame. sure the side skirts look ok (think, VR-VS HSV) but appart from that, it looks more like a family/luxury class car front with a standard sedan back.
it needs more balls!!!!!!!!! and maybe a bit more herritage like more notable four round headlights.
maybe something like this. oo==oo
Just remember guys that these are only images not the real car I am going to wait until I see one in the flesh to make up my mind. If those pictures of the new XR's are similar to what we will get I must say I am a little dissapointed with the headlights. The one thing the Falcon had over the Commodore was different lights/Grilles between the models.

I had read that Ford have not been happy with the fit and finish that results when the cars were converted to the four lamp setup. If you take a look at the AU XR, the gap between the lights and the bumper is considerable. This is why they have moved to a more conventional setup, although I think it still looks good, even if less aggresive.

I suppose they would need to glue all that ugly extra plastic on to them like they do with the clubsports for you holden nuts to think they look any good.:D

I hope the new model has a bit more luck in the supercars then the au and if the cars being longer and wider even if not by much mybe im not shore if it will make much difference if it does i hope for the better.
and now it looks like pro drive have taken over tickford maybe will see some improvment on the track at lest i hope so:D

I think it looks like a commodore to be honest. The XR seems to have lost its aggresive stance! Where has the grill gone from the rear of the series III. That looked great. I really like the new BLUEPRINT colour on the XR6 VCT ST series III. Looks stunning in the flesh.
I drive an AUII XR6 VCT - with most of the Tickford options- Galaxy Blue.
Cheers guys................

heres my 20 cents worth
i think the new XR Falcons don't quite look quite right.
i hated the AU because i felt it was ugly (too much like a torus)
- by the way i drive a EL Falcon
Where are the four headlights that made the XR so famous ???
I must say though, it least when you saw an XR comming you knew what was comming - it had a presence on the road - unlike the SS which you could only tell from the fog lights and badges
The front bar reminds me of the EB, EBII & EF V8 race cars except instead of fog lights they had brake ducts - couldn't they think of something new.
Ford say that it still has four lights but really, its' just not the same.
This may sound harsh, but i'm a loyal Ford person and the AU was a real disapointment and it looks like BA is just more of the same with a new name - take the side view for example - still looks like an AU.
As for the rear end - it looks to much like the love child of a Statesman, Laser, Magna and the current VX.
Sorry Ford, but i still think you've lost the plot.
Heres hoping the REAL new falcon that will be totally new in 2006 is deasent, as i don't think my EL will last forever.
Come on Ford its' time to get it right before its' too late.

I think the new XR looks great! ON top of that, the picture tey released is only of the XR6 apparently. Meaning that the Turbo XR6 and the XR* will look even meaner and better. Then there's the T-Series and wait for it a GT!!! It dont come any better then that if you ask me. Plus with new engines and power galore, Ford can finally take the fight right up to Holden and show them how its done!!
