This season has been the most enjoyable racing season from any category that I have seen in a long time. The best V8 season in a while. There has been some thrilling racing been done on the circuits, despite whatever race format being used and with 1 more boring 300km, the series is going to finish so strong. The races have been enjoyable to watch.
ADELAIDE- Always a highlight round, one of the best of the year. This year the races lived up to the reputation that Adelaide brings. Marcos Ambrose dominated the round, with good performances form PWR. Turn 8 brought some fantastic prangs, with GRM loosing 2 cars in two incidents on the same corner.
EASTERN CREEK- the 300km format on this circuit is probably the second most boring of the year. The race was saved by the rain and there was a good scrap at the end of the race. Rick kelly bought Holdens 150th victory.
NEW ZEALAND- I don't know what it is about this track but the racing is excellent. The revised format brought something that we hadn't seen since 2001, good sprint racing. Bright dominated and won the last race when Morris took a big shunt at the last corner.
DARWIN- Case of teammate hitting teammate, but no penatly. Skaife robbed of a good round by the Ambrose stunt. Round win to HRT Todd Kelly.
PERTH- last 3 race format until end of enduro. Skaife comes with first Race win, richo bumped off. Race 2 bought one of the most congested pitlanes seen in a while. Racing was close this round, Bright taking out the win.
QUEENSLAND-the worst round of the year. The rounf where ambrose won 192 points, then lost them, the won. HE dominated this race and showed he is a true class driver. In a way its a shame he is driving in Aus as he could dominate overseas series and show the class of Aussie drivers.
WINTON- One of the best non enduro round's witnessed in a long time. The mud on the side of the circuit caused controverty. Murph almost won from the back of the grid. What a fantastic move by McConville, showing ambrose how to make a clean move at the end of a race and win (Ie darwin).
There is no doubt that the qualtiy of racing that has occured this year. 5 round winners from 7 rounds. The point score, despite its desperate need for change has put 4 drivers in extremely close proximity of each other, with the enduro's looming, will make for some good v8's. With some of the best riunds still to occur, ther has been no doubt that the series is now truly one of the worlds best.
