Over the past week, many threads have very angry tones. Why dont we start a thread about the positives that model car collecting brings.
About healthy competition between biante/cc that constantly improves quality.
here are some positives;
fun
well being
colourfull
brings back memories
passion
Now it is up to you guys to add to the happy list.............
And before you say anything , no i have not been smoking happy weed.

I agree fully
the reason I dont post that much is for all the *****ing that goes on, more so on the CC site, but its starting to happen here more and more.
we collect model cars thats it, we all love them thats why we do it so why dont we all enjoy it.
stop the *****ing and bagging as who makes the best and who makes the worst and just enjoy the cars we can now get !!

OK, the sheer enjoyment I get from standing in front of my shelves taking in the models.:)
Finding one of "My" old cars in model form. Ditto for a friend or relative's car. Double ditto for one of "Our Cars" (read Wifey there).
Anyone know of a "Standard 8"? My Dad's first car.:)

Must agree, I dont even collect Biante models anymore but I still drop in each night to read the Non Biante Gossip. It's forums like this that provide some interesting rumours that more often than not have some basis - isnt that right moxo?
In the time I have been comming here I have seen some pretty sill arguments and even seen the dicussion board closed down.
I didnt see anything wrong with the post about DJR being sold, the guy made it very clear that it was just a conversation he overheard yet he was attacked in a very rude manner.

what i reckon is that there are too many posters taking sides on issues and other posters complaints in every thread.
if two contributors want to have a biff..let it be...its the third person in that causes the trouble and the fourth and so on.
you cant outlaw opinion, so lets just keep differences between the parties concerned and stop jumping on the bandwagon in every thread.
find something interesting to contribute

Huh? I dunno - I make a point of trying to use facts or at least direct quote - it's safer that way.
Re Standard 8 - just did a quick check on some likely places and came up empty - not to say there's no such thing - I reckon there will be at least a tin-plate model. Check ebay regularly and drop in at Vanguards every few months. Also maybe get in touch with some of England's bigger model shops.
I've got good at this! 'Cept when I come up empty.
Yes, let's all be nice - like Sydney during the last Olympics (although I still think they put Prozac in the water).

Fantastic hobby we all have...Part of the buzz for me is seeing the enjoyment others get as well.Had a mate around awhile back who I haven't seen for sometime, before I started collecting,He was amazed at the quality and types of cars I had...He went through several cars that he remembered from years back and we spent a good hour or so having a yak about them..I wouldn't be surprised if he hasn't got a couple on the shelf when i visit...I he only gets 1/2 the injoyment I do then he'll be laughing...:D

My office is adorned with wall cabinets that have a 100 - 200 1:18's in them. Mostly Biante, a few CC's that I could wait for Biante to make and some bburago and Maisto's that I started out collecting. It makes sitting in the office so much nicer... I have the wife or kids pick a new model every week to go on the turntable. It costs a lot of money to collect all of these models but at least the whole family get to enjoy them...

I collect models for the enjoyment & the memories they bring. As well as being able to own some of the worlds supercars & race cars without the price:)
