One thing I have noticed over the last few months is all you Australians and your fasination with Police Pursuit Cars. Why is this? Is this something to do with your history with your association with the law, right back to the days when Australia was a Prison Island!!

and we were taught how to play rugby.......

It's a clear and cool night on Saturday 3 August in Sydney........

A guys walks into the main bar of a central city hotel with a rare jet black
dachshund under his arm.The dog is kitted out entirely in black and has a black patch over his
right eye.

"Could you turn on the tele please, mate?" the customer asks the barman.

"Me little friend here's a mad one-eyed All Black supporter and we wanna
see the second round of the Bledisloe Cup up in Sydney."

"Thanks mate, thats it on Seven!" says the customer, who orders a Guinness and pours some into a black ashtray for his rugby mad black clad canine.

During the first half of the match Andrew Mehrtens kicks a penalty
goal from midfield and the black clad dog goes ballistic...
howling, turning cartwheels, punching holes in the stratosphere and
executing precision pelvic thrusts ... which have a high degree of
difficulty when you're a dachshund.

The dogs excited behaviour continues well into the second half.........

"Sh#t," says the barman. "That's awesome! What's he gonna do if they win the cup ?"

"Dunno" says the customer. "Only 'ad him five years..."

It appears to me from recent threads that they will be current commodore police vehicles:(

I'm STILL waiting on the WA based VT Commodore pursuit I was advised of late last year. Seems as if it's been shelfed or something at the moment, as I was expecting it to be out early this year - no sign of it as yet.

Eagerly awaiting,
Dave

Yep, we have been waiting and waiting for the cop cars to add to our collection, but i dont recall any comments from admin despite the numerous discussions.

How about some feedback Admin, its certainly a series id like to see eventuate.

Why not those "high visibility" Victorian Traffic cars they have. I think it's mainly a Vic Police PR stunt, but that funny green colour REALLY makes them stand out.

Although I'm a Holden fan, I always thought that the F... Coupe Highway patrol cars in NSW were something. Use to be one that operated from Parramatta with a 500 motor. The motor was actually transferred a couple of times to newer cars.

Remember the coupes? They replaced the Valiant Chargers when they realised that they needed some bags of cement in the boot so they wouldn't "loose it" going around corners.

The most numerous current pursuit cars in most states (if not all) are SS Commodores with Police transfers and light bars. I think there are a few XR8s doing the job too.

If they're gonna do these pursuit cars, then maybe they could do the SS and XR8 in normal guise.

Yes VRSS, I remember the NSW pursuit FORD Coupes.

They were XC's, white, and totally awesome. I nearly bought one as my first car in 1983, but was talked out of it (probably just as well, I might not be here today!)

Now they were a real car. Oh, and VRSS, I think there's something wrong with you're keyboard. Seems the "O", "R" and "D" don't work after "F". Did you're computer come from Holden? :D

Cheers, ET351 (real cubic inches!)

Id like to see a 1:18 VS NSW HWY patrol Commodore.

Anyone got any pictures of those police XC coupes? I'd love to see them! At the same time you guys had cops chasing you in big V8 beasts, we Poms had police in Mark 2 Ford Escorts and Hillman Avengers......

The only problem I could see in all you Aussie's wanting your local Pursuit Police Cars is the question,Would it be worth it to Biante? Biante would have to sell X-amount to make it feasible, but I don't think that these models would have a huge international appeal, to make them worth while. Don't get me wrong some of them would look great, but how many State Pusuit cars are we talking about?.

Drof's right the commercial reality is that only 1 per annum in 1/18th 2-5 in 1/43rd per annum would sell enough to make it worth while (based on same body mold).

The main problem is which one? Do they go for the eastern states with more population and sales or a home town car.

I place my order for a Victorian VX current colour scheme.

VRSS... The cars were not a stunt, they were an initiative of the TAC (and also paid for by TAC) in conjunction with Vic Police, as high visibility traffic cars to kerb the road toll here in Vic. There were only 10 made. They were not green, but the word "police" was outlined in flourescent green. I'm not sure at this stage if the cars will be a permanent fixture to the police fleet, but they were a popular car, in more ways than one. (if you know what I mean).

Aussiecollector,

As the tools to produce the late model Commodores already exist, it would only be a matter of producing the light bars and transfers/wording on the cars etc.

Most of the work is already done.

I know this has all been discussed in a past thread but i was told the reference pics were 'lost' but have now been found. so naturally it will be delayed cos of lost time but were the pics really lost???

also there is talk of all the states cop cars all going to the same livary Australia wide. maybe they are waiting for this to happen so they can produce one and sell it nationally.

im still waiting........................................... ........................!
