Admin - is the photo of that is show of this model on the site the real thing or a prototype?
reason
i believe that the original 1989 Bathurst Winner (i've got plenty of photos and videos of this patricular race as it was the 1st Dick Johnson victory at bathurst that i had witnessed as i was 5 in 1981) had the names on the windscreen in White not Yellow as shown on the site.
The #18 car had its drivers surname in Yellow.
I hope that this not an oversite as this has been the Johnson model that i have been ever so patient waiting for.

anybody else got any comments

I noticed that too, but actually think the yellow Sir names looked better on the sister car. I have a question also for all you mad Dickie supporters, Is there any particular reason that Dick always had number 17? Because we know Brock's was to do with the .05 Drink / Drive campaign, so I just wondered if there was a story behind it?

Cheers, Jason :D

Sure the yellow one looked good, however the real race car had white letters on it and i ask again is this a prototype model or the actual biante model?

- heres hopeing that is just a pre-production model and not the real thing.

I think that the reason why Dick ran 17 was because he really wanted to run 71 (Pete Geoghegan's old number) but someone was using 71 so he simple reversed the number and hense the legend of 17 began.

G'day brchi17,
I think you are correct. But what a beginning of a Great Legend.

The production Sierra has all the correct bits guys.
Its hard to take pictures of things that do not yet exist, so we put up pictures of the latest samples available.
We have now just unpacked a production model that was flown down and its on the site as of now.

Re the number 17.

Dick ,back in the early days, worked and built a Mini for a mate by the name of Graeme Littlemore, This car was number 71.
They decided that when Dick built his EH, they would paint them up the same and he would go for number 70 or 72.
Both those numbers were not available, but 17 was. So the cars ran as 17 and 71 (much the same as Kmart runs 15 and 51 today)

Even though he could have had number 1 on the car for 5 of his many years on the scene, Dick always kept number 17.

And that is how it came to be.

Thanks very much for the replies brchi17 & admin, looking forward to the release of Dick's Sierra even though I hated them at the time they were racing!

Yes how about an answer on the DJR EB11, all I ever get is deafening silence when I've asked this question before. Give me that any day over more XD's and XE's. I will try and buy them all but would definitely see the 94 EB as top priority. DJR WILL BE BACK.
