I was just wondering how many members of this forum are ( members ) of ebay?
And also how active they are? ( ie Stars on ebay )

As you probably know inter, you only get a star when you buy/sell off a new seller/buyer to you. Multiple buys/sells off the same seller/buyer only gives you more feedback, not more 'stars'.
I'm running with 15 'stars', to go up by one in the next day or so, with 23 purchases. Still got my 100% rating too. :D
34 for me and thats only from people who have left feedback. Probably another 10 never left feedback. My ebay username is V8SS as well.:)

Geez with the number and price of models on e-Bay....who doesn't use it.......
Some great buys on these sites although i did prefer SOLD.COM when it was around.

228 rating, from 300-odd transactions, but don't tell the missus! Model cars (Biante/CC in the UK, UT and Minichamps in the US etc), but also autographs, books, mineral specimens, magazines, loose unset gemstones, jewellery, and miscellaneous.......

48 for me. It will be the only 50 that i will ever score :D
It's a good place to find a bargain or that hard to find item your after, and i don't just mean diecast only .
I've bought cheap stock for work, and hard to find toys for my son aswell.
They must make a absolute "packet" worldwide, as there so big now.

pfft Biante Auctions is rubbish! I have tried to sell 2 items on here, the first one nothing came of it... the 2nd one finished over 3 weeks ago and still nothing and yes I have emailed the administrator on the issue. I don't even bother looking there anymore.
eBay is great. Sold was pretty good for selling items but eBay have the same features now. eBay has so many useful tools in the myeBay section that help with searching.
Brad I don't know how eBay is hard to find anything, you can perform simple searches or advanced searches or you can browse the categories.
Plus don't forget they are worldwide with eBay sites in so many different countries - sold was just Aussie stuff.

the_goldie i agree i think biante auctions is rubbish as well. Ebay is much better and easier to use. Plus there is way more cars on ebay compared to Biante Auctions. I notice alot of the Baine auctions dont seel either or have stupid asking prices. Thats my view
the thing that attracts me to ebay more is the fact the seller pays to list the item not the seller.
Maybe its just me but I don't like paying a 10% buyers premium on top of the sale price. Thats why I use ebay more. I do sometimes check bianteauctions though. Even thoug this is the way most items are sold at auction I like the fact ebay does it differently.

Cam, i think it the vast number of categories, that for a non e-bay user was a bit overwelming, compared to the old sold.com format.
Now that I know where stuff is (& have put them in my favorites list), it's not that bad.
cheers. :)

everyone has said what i'm about to anyways
I got a 25 or similar rating, all 100% which is mostly from buying but the occasional selling
there are a few that havent left feedback but then there are some of these i'm glad didnt leave feedback :p
it annoys me as a seller when a winner of an auction turns around and says "postage is too much" when ive clearly told you how to find out the postage cost yourself, but you cant really fight it too far because the winner can turn around and give you a negative feedback and there goes 100% positive, which has taken me 2 or 3 years to earn as I used to deal on Sold (and I dont buy / sell that often)

I am assuming that in the first statement, the second seller should read buyer.
With Biante Auctions, they charge twice. They charge the seller on a sliding scale which isn't made available till you list the item. And then they charge the buyer, basically making the winning bid misleading, because you are up for more than just postage costs. This double dipping does not go down well with me.
Biante Auctions lists by scale, which I like and there is less/no rubbish like there is on ebay. I've even seen coins in the Biante section on ebay, although that was a once off.
But the fact that your winning bid on ebay is all you pay, plus postage if you want your item shipped, means you very plainly see what you are up for. You don't need to get the calculator out every tiime you want to bid.
Ebay's bid increments are also a lot more reasonable, in my mind. Although I can't complain too much. I have bought cars after they have passed in on Biante Auctions. If Biante's increments were less, the cars might have sold online, and I would not have been able to buy them.
And actually, I have no choice as to which system I use. My account is still suspended on Biante Auctions from the old owners. :D

If the buyer whinges about postage, and the postage has been clearly displayed on the auction page, then you can leave negative feedback for them, or report them to ebay.
I'm fairly sure that by bidding on an item, the bidders are accepting all costs etc for that particular item. Don't bid if you don't like what charges are added etc.
It's been discussed elsewhere what some dudes expect postage costs to be. I've just had a car come from WA to VIC and the Aussie Post receipt on the package is $16.35. Add to that things like registered post, express post, COD and/or packaging costs, it's quite easy to see that even $20.00 is not too much. But $15.00 is about normal for transfers within the eastern states.
But I guess you just can't tell some dudes. Alternative shipping should be discussed before close of auction, and all is final when the hammer drops.
My opinion anyway. :D
Currently a 56 on a blue star.
I've completed a fair few repeat transactions with people too.
All through buying, and maybe one day I might sell
a classic, but I doubt it!!

Ebay has a wider selection of models and I trade on there and am
currently 144 at 100%. I think the biante auction site is a bit heavy with fees, not that I am bagging it, just that ebay suits me.

ebay also allows you to deal w/ the international seller- if you want an item not released elsewhere, for example i bought bruny thiry's 99 monte subaru last yr in 1/43, this was a once off release in Belgium, chances of finding that on biante auctions are low- could happen tho
