Must admit that a 1/18 model of the Fury Bluebird would find it's way into my collection for sure.

Yeah, I think everyone's been waiting for the Fury Bluebird. It will be a very popular model by the sounds of it.
I just hope that a 1:18 figurine of George will be added, terry-towelling hat and all....:p

Yep, I'd would definetly like to have the George's Bluebird.
I'd probably put it next to Murph's 2003 bathurst car, and start a new collection theme in the cabinet of "Mountain Tamers" :), with the way they both could go around Bathurst.
It's a lot plainer looking than i remember, but boy could it GO !!!

Wasn't there a red and blue one too?? Or was that later on?
Maybe I'm thinking of Seton's late 80's one:confused:

i heard that george dialed in very silly 40 psi on his qualifying engine to obtain poll. and then swapped motors and ran 30 to 35 psi for the race. anyone know about this, i was just a kid back then with little interest in cars other than matchbox.

I vividly remember talking to George Fury and Glen Seaton for almost an hour in Sydney one day. Glen had a sore throat and was still willing to ruin it even more by talking with me and my mates. George was a great bloke too. I remember watching the cars scream around Bathurst and when George was rallying I use to go and watch him. He was a mad man on the dirt. The bluebird cars would definitly be in my collection. Come on Biante I think you would be on a winner!

Does anyone else remember when George was flying around Bathurst and they went to the in car camera and said " We will just watch George do a flying lap here" and then the commentators just shut up and then George got stuck behind another car and couldnt get past. George let out the expletive "Move ya F@#%ing BAS@#rd" The announcer then said quickly "I think we will leave george there I think he is a bit busy!"
I still laugh at that.

i sure do remember that and i will never forget.
i think his language took the comentators by surprise as they had never come acrossa driver with so much anger when it came to slow traffic.
i think skaife is following in his footsteps.:D
cheers
Hey mulder,
I was just watching that tape today.
I picked up several boxes of old Oz motorsport taped videos.
So far I'm on the 3.75 hr mark and about 30 mins has been of the in-car camera of the Bluebird, awesome stuff!

Does anyone know if either of the manufacturers has plans to make this car? I would dearly love to see it done (not until someone makes me a Bartlett Camaro of course!).

Gricey & Dicky also had quite volatile tempers & colourful vocabularies when on camera.:D
