Minichamps North America have listed this car as available this week.
Hopefully we will see some come to Australia.

Every item Minichamps make for general release is available in Australia and has been since 1992.

Admin, when can we expect it to arrive.

On close inspection this model features the name BIN LADEN on it.
I remember the Daily Telegraph published a picture of it a few days after the terrorist attacks on America.

SWRT, is that it on LHS panel, between front wheel and '27'?
An interesting piece of trivia.
Yes ET351,
the BIN LADEN writing is small in between the front left wheel and #27 number.

So I guess the question needs to be asked...
Does anyone know what Bin Laden's association was with the team? Was it sponsorship (and possibly a money laundering racket)?
Can anyone shed some light on this one?
Cheers, ET351
The Bin Laden family owned a construction company in Saudia Arabia and given the Saudia Air connection probably thought they would jump on the sponsorship band wagon (so to speak.) Interesting though there was a motor show here in Adelaide last year (in which A J and the FW07 made an appearance and Alan kindly autographed a couple of things for me). I took a few photos of the car and I can't see Bin Ladens name on it. The show was before Sept 11 too ?
On the FW07, I wonder why Minichamps have chosen to do this car when it was the FW07B he won the Championship in. Is it because they will be producing another model being the FW07B at a later date.

It was one of Osama's uncles I think, AJ made a remark about it at the next GP after Sept 11. They own a lot of companies on Saudi. AJ also said that he remembered Osama at races and he would have run over him if he'd known how we was going to turn out.
Strange world we live in Huh!

Has any model company made a model of AJ's 1980 World Drivers Champion car yet. If so, who?

Polistill has done the car in 1/43 a long time ago and you do not see these very often
Scott have a look at www.grandprixmodels.co.uk . There is a1/43 kit available in white metal if you would like to build your own. Unfortunately they dont come with drivers. GPM are excellent people to deal with and can answer all your questions on modelling. Ordering is no problem either so long as you have visa. I have received models from them quicker than from interstate at times.
