Hey Guys,

I'm hoping to purchase a white and black version of this model. The white one comes with red seats, a red floor and red door inserts and the black one has grey/black interior components.

I'm trying to replicate my real life ride, which is a black Type R with a red interior by swapping the interior parts of the two models.

Apparently the seats are fixed to the floor and the entire floor pan detaches from the body with the removal of four screws. The hard part then is to remove the door panels and swap them over. I'm not sure if they are clipped in or glued in.

Can anyone confirm or deny any of the assumptions above and can anyone suggest a good way to remove the doors and then the door trim panels if they're glued in? Or even if they're just held in by clips. I would rather not break these clips if they exist.

Thanks in advance for your help!

My suggestion is that you paint the door trims rather than risking breaking them. Perhaps Vanpyre57 could assist as he has nuch experience with mods

thats an idea. thanks. but if its possible i'd rather swap them because that would make the white one a mismatched butchered model. i was hoping to resell the white one with a black interior at a discounted price to someone who doesnt care so much about the interior.

You shouldn't have to take the doors off to take off the trims. They aren't glued in at all. Just pry them off with a flat head screwdriver from the hinge, there should be a bit of a gap to get the screwdriver underneath, that's what I do. But do it slowly, don't yank them off. Seats are attached to the floor, but not hard to get off. All my experience is with Commodores, but should be the same, all made by AUTOart.

hey there,

this is a late reply. i only just got my models today. do u have any tips for taking them off and not breaking them other than just doing it slowly and starting from the inside edge (closest to the hinge)?

thanks in advance for the advice!

Hi Sang!

I'm so glad to find this forum as I'm trying to do the same thing! I've been looking for a black Integra Type R with red seats and door trim but I can't find any (also to mimic my baby's real life ride).

I'm just wondering how you went with modifying the AutoArt models? Thank you!!!

Sang hasn't posted since 2005, not sure if you are going to get an answer, well from him anyway
