As this is my 1st V8 Supercar model, ( after collecting a few F1 and some American Muscle Shelby's) I just want to know why the bonet wasnt made to stay up? I would like to display it all doors and boot and bonet open...
Is there a good reason for this is is mine broke?

Welcome Craig,

They all do this. A very well placed paper clip (white plastic coated) bent will do the job.

Happy collecting

I've already seen a few & from my experience THEY ALL HAVE BONNETS WHICH DO NOT STAY UP.

What point were you trying to make? Perhars start an arguement?

You can either beleive me or not I don't care what you think.

The question was asked & I gave a reply not a smart A***D comment like yours:(

No argument intended, the question was asked are they faulty, I think it was a politically correct response in stating they all do this which they do. A less politically correct response may well have been that they really should be built to stay up and not fall down. Lifes just to short to take every comment that others make on these forums as insults, trouble making or argument starting but each to their own I guess.

Lesson one; It's not a V8 Supercar.....It's a Touring car. From the days where you raced a Ford or Holden and not just a conglomeration of parts with a Badge on it!!!!!!!!!!

Gary at Trikings once told me that the reason some of the bonnets stay up is the thickness of the paint that is applied to the model around the bonnet hinges???

I use a small nail which I cut off the point. The head of the nail seems to fit nicely under the bonnet. Being silver it looks okay as well.

:D

Thanks for the reply's , didbt mean to start an agument with anyone about which cars are better at keeping thier bonets open....!!!
Thanks for that heads up that its not a Supercar, just a small non thinking typing error there.
Yes I will be doing the plastic coated paper clip thing, I've allready found a nice red and white one that should do just fine.
