Now that Biante have the cast for the A9X, which other drivers cars will you be bringing out. How about cars like the Bob Morris #7 car, Bob jane #3 car, Allan Grice #6 car, Warren Cullen #9 pionner car. All raced in the1978 ATCC. Any one from Biante care to answer?

Even if Biante have nothing to say at present, you can guarantee that the Morris and Grice cars, plus others, will be on the cards, licensing permitting. These are significant cars, and too important not to make. Just be patient!

The Perkins/Janson 79 Bathurst A9X has just gone into production. Can't wait for that.

The real 1/1 scale is still at the Bathurst museum.
The preproduction 1/18 model is stunning, so we have to wait .

We must be getting due for another racing XU-1, like a Bob Jane or Ron Hodgson car.

I couldn't agree more more Toad. How about the 1973 Bathurst Bond/Georghegan XU-1, Jane/Harvey XU-1, Johnson/Forbes XU-1.
That year XU-1's finished 2nd,3rd,4th,5th,7th and 9th.

Was lucky enough to see the prototype at Biante on my Rally Australia visit (thanks Bev). Looks great and I can't wait to add it to my collection.

There's (finally) some LC's in Development Approved...

On the A9X side, Trevor said some time ago that ALL HDT A9X's will be made at some point in time...

Has everybody already got the Patterson L34 4 door and the 1977 A9X, the L34 Harvey, and the L34 Morris winner?
They seem to be available and at very good prizes other than the A9X 1977 Brock/Brock

If also the 1977 A9X team will be made and all the following years cars as they raced in ATCC and Bathurst then we all better make some more room (alot)

While we're on the subject of A9X's what does everyone think about the 79 Brock. Should Biante up the numbers to 10000 or 12000 so that we don't see a repeat of the current insanity over the 78. I collect because I love the cars not to make money. What's your opinions?

im in it for the collecting. they made 7800 for this one, so they might make 7900 for the next. say 2000 people who brought the 78 wont buy the 79, that might be enough to go round. but then there are the people who will buy 2 or more (then say they cant afford something else) so after all that i dont know.

p.s. i hope the people who buy heaps to sell get shafted next time round.

I agree about the numbers. It will be interesting to see if demand for the next Brock A9X will be as strong. That said 7,800 is a pretty big issue number for a model for such a small market.
Personally I don't care how many are made as long as I get one!

I think that like the 1978 issue, the preorder arrangments will determine the final numbers required.
Shops that state that their # were cut short MIGHT realy mean that they did not order enough at the time of order closing.
It was always going to be a limited edition based on the orders received at a predetermined date, as far as I can determine

Same withthe decals ,I have people ringing and they need them yesterday or even sooner, hurry, hurry, hurry!
They could have had them nearly 3 weeks ago as this is when the first lot went out of the people who were good enough to preorder. Veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery simple.

Historically speaking, repeat models (and by that I mean same body shape with similar livery) never has the same mad rush instant sell-out demand that the original had...

e.g. 28c sold-out within a week, #1 took several weeks

same with the tru blu/Greens Tuf Johnson XD/E's, Lowndes Green Eyed Monsters etc

Same can be said for the road cars, the original colour usually has the highest demand...

I wouldn't expect the same insane panic.

Cheers

Unfortunately that's true, the Brock #1 Torana is the one model I would really love to have in my collection, I've been looking around for a while trying to get one, I'm sure one day I will..

I personally think the 79 car will sell like hot cakes. Perhaps even faster than the 78 car. It is one of the absolute iconic bathurst winners totally desimating the competition that year. Had Biante released it before the 78 car then I think the 78 car may have not soldout so fast as it did.

I can see why Biante released the 78 car first.

Agreed It did DECIMATE the rest of the field & I think that the 79 Brock car will sellout even quicker than the 78 car did.

Off topic, I know, I'm a pedant. Decimate/Decimating/Decimated.

how much difference is there between the78 &79 as if you buy two 79's & modify for a 78 for those that missed out like me as i love the shape as well as brocky.

There is not a lot of difference , but enough to make them easily indentifyable??
Interior Brown, different steeringwheel?, different wheels different pos. of drivers name ,different roofnumber position.
By trying to modify you surely will wreck it as the tampoprint is different.

thanks ff i might just buy a stocky and build from scratch would be cheaper as i would'nt have to wreck a more valubale car;)

Been meaning to thank you for the offer, Ken. I must be the only collector in Australia to knock back the A9X!:D ( I was going to say: "She did WHAT?! I'll throttle her!").........but then I thought better of it. Maria told me straight away & she was absolutely correct, as much as I'd love one, I can't justify the money (even RRP) & have NOWHERE to put it. I seriously have to build some new shelves before Xmas. Now if Biante EVER make it in 1/43..........I'm not holding my breath.
