What offence is being committed by a photo of a modified model, if it is privately owned? That seems a bit tortuous to me! Even if it is some obscure interpretation of the law, and therefore liable to prosecution, I've noticed people are still using asterisks instead of writing Marlboro on this forum! Writing the trade name is not, and will never be, an offence! By using asterisks people are pandering to the pollies who inconsistently apply the law.........Just my little gripe!

I guess, as the decals are illegal, Biante can't be seen to be condoning them. As it has been said many a time, they are not going to risk their multi million dollar business over a $2 decal.
As to why people don't write Marlboro, I've never understood it.

What about the retail shops on and off line that are advertising and displaying this model in all its Marlboro glory,, are they breaking any laws..???

Technically they are, depending on which state you are in, I know in Victoria it would be breaking the law to "advertise" tobacco products.
Unfortunately Biante are having to walk a very fine line because our politicians are so worried about the anti-tobacco lobby and the parents groups that they are trying to re-write history. None of it is Biante's fault. It's the fault of people with far too much time on their hands...

Biante just dont want any affiliation with ANY form of Tobacco advertising and this includes hosting pics of cars with these decals on them.
By not hosting the pics on their server they can not get in trouble for it.
However if you start a FREE WEBSHOTS ALBUM like I have and link to it that is fine.
Have a look at mine in my signiture.
Cheers
James
