View Full Version : Your thoughts on the GTSR
I was looking at the prototypes and noticed that the GTSR has mud flaps!!!!( what the ) so I emailed Biante and this is the reply
I can't give you an answer on that. The car we took photos of had mudflaps on it so they people at the factory made it with mudflaps because the photos had it.
I for one hate mudflaps and I don`t think that they would be standard on a perfomance car. The first thing I do if I buy a car that has flaps is rip them of. YUK YUK YUK!!!!!!!!!!
what do you guys think?

if the real car was with flaps from the factory.. then the model should have them..
if the real car WASNT with factory flaps.. then the model shouldnt have them..
I dont know if it was or wasnt....

I agree! If the car's owner had fitted fluffy dice, a tasteless custom interior, or fur-lined boot, I would sincerely hope they didn't make their way onto a model! Autoart tripped up with their D Type Jag, modelling it with the Goodwood Festival of Speed entry number sticker on it, presumably because that's what it had on it when they photographed it!

Surly you would think there would be more research done than going off a photo of one car. I personally dont think they would've been standard. Maybe counry buyers with crap roads had them fitted post delivery. Just a thought

Mud flaps are on the options list for every car bought through a Holden dealer...as are many other items...
Should Biante not model factory or dealer options?

lcfp2297 would more people of bought the car with or without the mud flaps. You would say without so thats what i would have modeled and it would look better too.

I went to the HSV website looking for pics of the GTSR and there were a few and none of them had mudflaps.
Here is the link:

Another thing I thought was strange is that the picture of the GTSR on the Biante website does not have mudflaps either.

looking at the model, the mud flaps appear to be seperate pieces so its probably not too late for them to be removed. is this correct richie? lets hope so

The model is the first hand sample so we haven't even made a single model yet.
The mud flaps are seperate items and have already been removed from the next stage of development.
We have a couple of owners of the real cars helping us as well as all of our research material and HSV's archives. The model is going to be one of the best models we have produced, count on it!

just wondering if anyone happened to notice that not only does the car have mud flaps BUT.... ,you cant see inside the car! does this mean that this car will be just like the early 1/43 scale classic carlectable cars??....:D ....seriously thou who cares if it has mud flaps or not,

Spot on. Having been into Biante in Perth and seen the different stages of prototype development it's amazing the amount of changes that are made from early pre production samples to the finished model we buy. These photos are posted so we can see what's coming development wise so I don't think we should be so critical.

HSV - I JUST WANT ONE!!!
sticker? or will no holdens hsv or non-hsv's feat. the sticker ever?
Malik

mate why would you want an "HSV I JUST WANT ONE"sticker on a HSV?
I would want an "HSV I JUST BOUGHT ONE" sticker instead.

So are you saying they should model headlight protectors, bonnet protectors and side window deflectors.
Nah, didn't think so.
The only thing I think I would want as a DEALER OPTION on a model would be a sunroof.

Richard has said that they have already been removed and if thats the only thing we can find to complain about then it looks like it will be an awesome model. I have it on my watchlist.
Just a thought though, who will be getting what? I'll only be getting the GTS-R. Will anyone be getting all the variants i.e Clubsport, Senator etc.
Maximus

I will be getting a VS CLUBSPORT in SILVER MINK to give to my dad as he had one when they first came out.
But thats all as I mostly collect older road cars and new fords.
Cheers

I have never purchased a road car model as they don't fit in with the theme of my collection. Having said that, the Senator model could change my mind. I just can't say no to those wheels!

Wayne - I said that but I now have 4 road cars in my collection and I am sure more to come. I was only going to get Monaros but I think it has changed to HSVs and maybe Brock road cars ;) It is hard to resist. The GTS-R should be awesome!
I'm the same Cameron. I now have 5 road cars but theres no way I'll be able to resist getting the GTS-R, a VY Senator and the VL Group A. If Biante keep producing these hot cars, I'll have to buy them.:)

These items should also be modelled at some time. After all, they are options...
Think of all the other options that have been modelled on models, both Ford and Holden...there are many!
There are pictures on this website of a HQ in development with towbar...will they fit carpet to the Kingswoods (This was an option)?
Just because a few don't like some options, does not mean they should not be modelled! If the options were available (and they were taken up), then they should be modelled!
I will be deeply disappointed if the bonnet fins or dog leg covers on the EH are not modelled...
I see this as a similar debate to the BA GT stripes...not a standard item...
Or non-standard one-off colours on certain muscle cars...
Make them all I say...
Cheers

Because all HSV cars come/came with the "HSV - I Just Want One" sticker on the back window however, I think from memory the slogan wasn't introduced until VT or VTII! I had a VSII GTS and can’t remember if it had the sticker or not!

These lines in the sand we draw just keep moving don't they. Originally I was going to collect Holden competition cars in 1/18 only. Then it moved to F1 champs (2versions per year where available), WRC champs (2 versions a year where available) and Le Mans winners. I also have a few NASCAR, CART and NHRA models (how can you knock back those 1/16 scale fuellers?). Oh yeah, and I basically get all the touring cars but the blue oval ones. I can't afford another category!

I wish I could get over to Perth & have a Tour of the Biante Facility but as it is, I'm spending all my $$$$$ on the goods ;) and that doesn't leave a lot for travel east to West:(

i must say with so many excellent road cars coming through i may have to give my wallet a rest and lay off the race cars for awhile i originally only wanted race cars that represented the model changes through the years especially the muscle car years of the seventies and eighties...im telling myself that i will only collect road cars now...(i wish)
Did anyone notice the GTS-R prototype has different wheels on the left hand side to the right hand side of the car. Must be tooling for different VR/VS models to come.

Sorry Steve, you're about a week late... You'll find your questions answered in the New model showroom (http://forums.biante.com.au/showthread.php?s=&threadid=5306&perpage=20&pagenumber=1) thread ;)
oops...missed that thread.;)
