Hey guys and gals......

I am after a damaged GTS. I need the wheels and brakes, interior (mainly just seats) and engine from this model. If anyone out there has one, or know someone who has one, can you email with a price you want for this model. I am planning a little project and trying to acquire these parts.

Thanks everyone.....:D

Hi Glen,
Most holden dealers in Sydney still have these models brand new for sale at $105, you may be lucky and find someone with a damaged model, if not email me and will give you details on where to obtain a new one. If its inconvenient for you to get one where you are i'm sure we could arrange something to get you one.

firstly are you talking about the VT GTS or the Coupe GTS? i am looking at doing a little project with a VT GTS where i am changing the engine over to the 255kw (yes, putting in a weaker engine) and some other mods. i have found a new VT GTS for $150 but i think i could get it for maybe $100. its just a little project, nothing like my last one (VT touro to a cross8) but it should look nice

I own a Yellow Monaro CV8 and I also have an Auto-Art/Biante model. My car has a rear spoiler so I'm after one for my model. The real Monaro one looks the same as the VT/VX Club Sports one so if anybody has a wrecked model or a spare spoiler please contact me and we'll talk turkey.
Cheers!

ok, Glen, if you do get hold of a damaged gts model, do you need the rear window and the rear passenger doors/windows? if not would i possibly be able to purchase them off of you?

also, Dutchy, i may have a VT GTS spoiler coming off of my model in place of a different styled one, i am not 100% positive if i will be making new spoiler or modifying the one i have, i think ill be making one from scratch so i might be able to send you this one. and yes, they fit nicely. just glue it on.

i have stripped my GTS right down now and made most of the minor body mods that i will be doing.

also, anyone with as many 1:43 VT,VX,AU touring car wheels they no longer need? email me at malibu_response@hotmail.com (malibu_response@hotmail.com) and see if we can come to some sort of arangement. (i need 40 all up)

Hey Guys,

Maybe this thread should be re-titled to 'Midnight Spares' :D

Cheers, ET351 ;)

Hi Chups,
If you do manufacture a new rear wing I'll gladly buy your old on off you. Save me making one up from scratch.
By the way what are you doing to your model? I converted a Monaro to a convertible, not yet completed but already looks great.
Cheers!

Thats actually a really good idea, it would be great if biante (or a trusted party) started up something where you could send in your spare parts and then people could browse a site with pictures, and then send in the money to this trusted party then the part would be sent out. p&h on small parts would be pretty cheap if the buyer could determine the postage sourse like if it was just a couple of wheels or something, they could request it to be sent in an envelope at 45c as it is under the max weight and size.

kind of like e-bay but just for spare model parts.

im not going to reveal what i am doing to my model just yet  but i too had a go at making a convertable monaro (my first major mod) i even put in working lights including the dash light. and gave it yellow accented interior and engine. looked nice from a distance (about 2-3m) but up close there were bits i wasnt happy with, so it went in the spare parts pile. so i have a few bits left over if you are desperate for them.
what clolur is your convertable going to be? mine was yellow, it looked so sweet. i might have another go soon, now that im more experienced.

G'day again Chups,
I'm making mine out of the Hothouse green. I'm waiting for a die-grinder to come on special at one of the local hardware stores so I can continue grinding off the dags, as I found it too difficult with a file. Too big a chance of slipping and gouging the paintwork. That project is on hold for the moment as I'm building a HSV workshop for the 2001 HSV cars. I've almost finished my 2 post hoist and am now making work benches etc. The most time consuming part will be painting the figures. Hopefully it will look OK on completion.
Cheers!
Dutchy.

Hey Chups,

All I need is the engine, seats, wheels and brakes and side indicators from the GTS. I am making a custom Walkingshaw. Black Walkingshaw, gonna try and make a VL Calais front end, put the Gen III in with the new seats and monster wheel and brake upgrade should look sweet. Just might be a bit expensive, Can't seem to find a Walkie under $200. I can still get a brand new GTS for $105 though.

There'll be a picture as soon as admin allows it, mocked it up on PhotoShop.

hey glen, have you done much model mods before? i think the walkie will look excellent when its done but i can never get all 4 wheels off a 1:18 car without breaking something. theres a guy here that modifies cars but when he changes the wheels he just cuts off the old ones and glues on the new ones.

I just started my first custom the other night, not the Walkie, and I was trying to get the wheels off but I broke a brake caliper off instead. It seems that the wheel is glued to to brake disc which means you cant get it off the axles, bummer!!! After fiddling around on Photoshop, I think I have come up with a couple more projects, but they can be a bit too expensive. I have put the wheels from the GTS Coupe on a chrome yellow Torana, in digital land, and also the same wheels on the Walkingshaw. They look pretty cool. I'd love to do a few different Walkingshaws, but they are too expensive to risk stuffing them up!!!

Glen

P.S. There'll be a pic with this post, so check it out.....

Glen,

The pics look AWESOME!!! You must know a few tricks of the trade when using photoshop cause those photos look real!!?? I love the Torana it looks prety cool with those rims on it. Also the black walkinshaw looks great :D

Black GTS for $105? Wow. I wouldn't mind getting one of those at that price. Send me an email if you don't mind of where this is.

Keep those great pics coming!!!

Goldie..

I saw the GTS on the Suttons Arncliife Holden website. Go to the Holden website (www.holden.com.au) and I think it was dealer locations. They have a website and I saw them on there. You can order through the website with your credit card too.

On the pics, if you have a digital camera and Photoshop, it isn't as hard as you would think. Set up the cars side on, take a photo of them, then cut the desired wheels from one pic and paste them onto the other..... lowering them is a bit different though, just careful cut and paste that's all.

A realistic race seat can be had by getting one of the crappy C.C. 1/18 models and break the seat out of the thing . These seats look good in a modified car
If you have a Walker pace car it can come out of that one and because of the dark windows you do not see/miss it at all.
these wrecks are good for plundering all sorts of items out and at $15 a pop this is not bad.
with the restof what's left you can create an accident scene!
I melted one with a 600amp TIG welder and quit spectaculat to say the least He He:D

As mentioned above , Suttons have some cheap cars. I checked them out and they have HRT , Valvoline , Coke and K-mart VTs for $105 and VT concept coupes in blue/black and gold for $69....Also HRT VL for $105....
