View Full Version : Which chat program to use?

Hey everyone!
As some of you are well aware, there are now two chat programs in existance, Hati's and v8coupe's. Some of you may have gathered that there are some problems with the co-existance of the chat programs.
So you may ask, which is the better program to use? As for some time now, I have used both before, I understand how both operate. And I must say, I'm rather surprised with one of them.
Inconsistency has been a big issue I find with v8coupe's chat. Politics tend to overshadow model collecting in that chat. This somewhat creates a daunting atmosphere. I must say I'm also disappointed with the way the operator treats collectors according to how much he likes them.
Subsequently, I must conclude that Hati's chat has a more friendly atmosphere. By all means visit v8coupe's, but if you would like to be treated equally amongst fellow collectors, then I suggest Hati/PDG666's original chat program.
Enjoy!!

It's a chat room, everyone is free to talk about amost anything.
I chat to all the users / chatters that pop in, when I am on, unless I am away from the computer that is.
Missing the point entirely v8coupe.
Collectors joining the chat are adults. They do not like to be toyed with. One must be professional in running a public medium such as a dedicated chat room. You are lacking in that field.

Hi v8coupe.
I'm sorry, but you seem to have missed my point. The reason why I think Hati/PDG666's chat is better is because of the lack of politics in that program. The over-emphasis on operators and silencing users so they can't speak does not appeal to me. Perhaps some users like to have the "hierarchical" element in their model chats, and I respect that.
I believe that it should be the users who choose which chat program to visit. Both chats have their respective traits, Hati's being a Biante/AutoArt chat, and yours focusing a little more on behaviour and discipline. I'm sure each chat suits their own respective users.

* The users here on the diecast chat have there say, any complaints and I look into it.
* I could say a few bad things about the other chat, but I will keep it to myself.
*All I can say, just because I created the chat, doesn't mean its mine.
Everyone is welcome, and I'll leave it at that.
Lets leave the judgement to the chat users!
I invite everyone interested in model cars to try out both, then settle wherever they feel comfortable.
It is rather pointless having a slag-fest on Biante's own forum. We are waisting space.

I don't believe all chats are perfect. Both have their inperfections. But believe that something fundamenal is missing from your program - the notion of equity amongst all the collectors. This has been replaced by something unnecessary - the consistent emphasis on who can possess more power in the chat and who can not. I seem to find the atmosphere in yours very tense.
Like I said, perhaps some users like that. And fair enough everyone's different. But I just find the lack of "power games" in Hati/PDG666's chat more welcoming.

Very true, as I have said in other threads on here, I am not 1 bit interested in getting into a so called forum / thread war thing.

I am not trying to start a "war", something that seems to happen on your chat. I simply am wanting to summarise the two different chat programs, as I have been asked a number of times the difference between the two.
I believe my point regarding the "hiererchical" nature of your chat is proven by simply experiencing it, and also by the nature of your previous replies.
Please enjoy chatting, and leave the politics out of what was, and still is a wonderful idea.
