I think we all received the bad news about this car late Friday ( some may have only seen it over the weekend. )

Extract - From Biante Newsletter

Second Special Commodore.

It is with some regret that we have to announce the second special Commodore racer has been shelved. This was, in the end, totally out of our control and unfortunately I am not allowed to show what it was going to look like. Biante was going to pay for the repaint of car #1for the Queensland 500 into a totally new colour combination which looked sensational. However due to several obstacles not being able to be resolved in time, it will now not happen.

A real shame, as apart from looking teriffic, it may have been a chance for a colour other than Red winning a race so far this year!! And it would have been a "ripper" model.

Is there a chance that this may be done at a later date or has the idea been shelved totally ?

One off paint jobs, like this was going to be, would be great additions to our collections. What does everyone else think ?

Unfortunate that Biante can't even tell us exactly what we have missed out on in respect to the colours etc.

There's always next year, Get to work Biante (please), get the deal done with plenty of time, It would be nice to see something special for the AGP maybe.

Please don't let this die of a quick death, one off paint jobs are a great addition to the grid and of course our collections.

I was dissapointed to read about this on Friday :( especially if Skaife/Bright win QLD500 then Skaife would secure the championship title so it could have been the car which he secured the championship in :D

Oh well - lets hope like Glenn said BIANTE continue to persue these sort of deals.

You guys reckon your disappointed about the demise of the second
special Holden model, how about me, I was the one who designed
the livery. It would have looked sensational in the flesh and probably
better in the replica. Unfortunately time and an unhappy sponsor
were the deciding factor in it's death. I would love to tell you more
but many in 20 years time when it's safe.

That would be good, as I would love to see how you
would have gone about creating the side graphics.

What a bummer Rob - all that hard work to no avail. Can you at least tell us what the new colour would have been ;)

Sounds like it would have been a great livery - maybe for Bathurst hey guys?!?!

Rob

I can understand your obvious dissappointment. Lets hope that something can get worked out and we might see the car in the very near future.

As we don't know all of the details, unaware if this may be able to happen later this season, but let's hope so.

Any chance of some sneaks - 20 years is a long time to wait.

Hey Grubby I would love to tell you more, but I value the work
I do for Holden and HRT and therefore I am not going to put
that in any danger by saying anything without their permission.

What I will say is that the whole car was going to be covered in
a "vinyl" wrap so time was a major concern even though it was
only for car1, so this and the concern from one of the sponsors,
would have to be resolved meaning that it would be highly unlikely
that original design would ever see the chequred flag.

But we live in hope that there will be a chance to revive the design.
For now that design goes into my growing HRT livery parts bin.
