I have just added a model of Peter Brocks 60th Birthday celebration 1:18 CV8 Monaro onto the Biante Auction site. This is a very limited model as only 36 were made.
See http://www.bianteauctions.com for more information.

Does it come with a letter of authenticity signed by Peter Brock or Trevor??

Yes there will be a letter from Trevor to certify what the model is.

Is this the same colour as Peter Brocks road car which is dev. approved on the biante website?

No, the birthday models are Delft blue. Brock's road car Monaro is Portafino blue.

i cant really believe that you can add a couple of stickers and it increases the price of a model that much where you can buy it without the stickers for less than $100.00:confused:

i am lead to believe that these are tampo prints or simmilar not stickers. so if you can make tampo prints (not decals or stickers) in your back shed, then by all means, go ahead and buy a monaro for under $100 and print one up yourself. its not about the model, its the story behind it. how about the twin mirrors, you can buy other falcons for much less, so why buy one with two mirrors? or a blue stormriders minicar, that went for quite a bit too. people value special models such as this.

Looks like Biante will make a killing from these 3 models.
Thats if the 2nd & 3rd place want to pay top dollar for it aswell.

Surely admin can get Peter Brock to sign the certificates, especially at the price they are going at auction.
Also, what happened to the other 33 cars at the dinner?

Harerace, Welcome to the forums.
$4150 is the most many of us have ever seen paid for 1 model car, especialy in 1:18. Congrats on the purchase, I think.

:shocked3: All i can say is half your luck for having that amount of money to spend on 1 car, you must have wanted one really badly. Bet it feels good to finally get one though.
Oh and welcome to the forum

well I have the entire Brock collection including models that are not included as part of the Brock collection (Monaro prototype CV8, Monaro Launch model CV8, Monaro Employee Model CV8 and the Monaro Deft Blue standard to go with the 60th Birthday car), I have all the available Bathurst winners, except the Moffat 1970 winner, and a collection of holden special cars, ie, Walkie, VY Sandman, Utester, FJ. I have a total of about 90 to 100 1:18 models......and one must admit that this 60th Birthday Monaro is very special. I would like to send Nathan the photos of my entire collection to maybe add to the Biante Gallery.

Welcome to the forum, congrats on the Monaro, although i could never pay that much for a model in one hit. Inter is this a new record for a Biante model?

Yeah but for $4K+ you can get a heap of real good quality models.
I am sure there is a method to the madness.

I think we all know the feeling - when we want something badly enough and we can afford it the price doesn't matter.

Thanks for the support, mind you my wife thinks I am mad as well.
The influence Brock had on me was huge, on Sunday 23rd Feburary 1992, i am sure it was Round 1 of the ATCC at Amaroo (or 1993) he was driving the VP, everyone was lining up get autographs as usual and people were just getting signitures etc, etc, when I went to get mine, I wished him well for the day and also wished him happy birthday for the coming Wednesday, the 26th. He just stopped looked at me and asked what my name was, Michael and then he said "look Michael, what ever you do in life, follow your dreams and if you are determined enough you will succeed". I followed my dreams......
I was lucky enough to be one of only 50 to be allowed in the church for his service. My wife and I also flew over to Perth from Melbourne early December to lay flowers down at the crash site and pay our respects. So the whole Brocky thing is pretty emotional for me.......

Basically you've got a couple of options with regards to posting pictures. You can attach them to a post (max 5 at a time, but they have to be small than listed below)
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y54/brchi17/other/ bianteattchmentssize.jpg?t=1168038886
Or you can put them on a photobucket website (or similar) and post links to you pictures.
I hope this helps,
cheers :)

Actually the way that Cowboy expresses his idea is correct; regardless of budgetry constraints if you want something badly enough and CAN afford it then why not; regardless of whether it is above what others would pay :)

Congrats mate on getting what is obviously a holy grail for you. Don't listen to anyone - as long as the cost of anything is justified in your own eyes then it's a good buy. ;)
