9 did it again last night, (in sydney anyway), showing the second fifteen minutes of the race twice. I was amazed coming back from the loo to hear the same dialog as had been before the last ad, and did they stop and fix it NO, they ran to the next ad break that we had already seen and just continued on.

Maybe the old fellow's (jones/eastlake) pushed the wrong button on the VCR and nodded off.

Anyway it wasn't a bad race, "Bloody Ferrari's" I think they need to be swabbed for Steroids.

Hey Ferrari Fan maybe I was wrong last week with the Jibe about the Jags not being competative for another year, its amazing what you can do when you know that there is a meeting next month that may decide your future.

Should make the rest of the season a little more interesting.

Cheers Glenn

I have always regarded Eddy as a great person/driver ,cause he made his own luck ,and saved Eddie Jordan from going under by selling himself to Ferrari (Eddy Jordan was Gobsmacked when Irvine told him what he had done to save his fellowcountryman from disaster )and I believe that there is always a place at Jordan for this driver, and I like to see him doing well,
Ihave had a very long wait for this winning streak and I am enjoying it for as long as it will last.
My prediction Coultard to start driving his fathers semies and McNish to drive for Dennis the Menis and bring some humanity to Mclaren Inc.

Hey, i'm with you ferrari fan. It also happened in Melbourne, i personally, i'm hopeing that rumours regarding 10 taking over the telecast are true. As long as they don't treat it like they do the CART series.

I think we've touched on Nine's Formula 1 broadcast incompetence before haven't we? But this was absolutely incomprehensible. Formula 1 fans stay up to god-awful hours of the night to watch their favourite cars/teams/drivers wizz around a track on the other side of the world, and yet we are held to ransom by a television station purporting to be the best and biggest in Australia. Its unbelievable. It wasn't Jones' or Eastlake's fault (pity), but Channel Nine have 'stuffed it' too many times now. I hope that they lose the GP coverage to someone who will treat the race fan with a little more respect. After SBS's Queensland 500 coverage, how about giving them a go? All we need is Mr Ecclestone to sell the rights to them for a price they can afford (which is hardly likely). Is there nothing that can be done?

Speaking of rumours....

I heard one that Mark Webber will be driving for Jaguar. Anyone else hear that one. Someone at work who is into the F1 heard this, but I don't know where he got it from.

Minardi is going to announce at the USA GP their new engine supplier and it is either a FERRARI or a Ford as Paul stated that the engine supplier was on the podium in IMOLA!
If it is a Ford then there could a trade been done with Ford for the services of the hot star Mark Webber!!!!
But how about a Ferrari donk in this Italien Brand!!## P.O.Q. Mclaren we are coming trough, cann't you see the Blue flags waving ,Mr Coultard!!## make way for the all concering Mark Webber in the Minardi -Ferrari together with Jos the Bozz in the sister car! ahhhhh one can have some revealing dreams, cann't we now!:D

Yes FF, I can sympathise with your sentiments there. Motorsport can be a fickle thing, and it wasn't that long ago that McLaren or Williams were ruling the roost, with Ferrari well down the list.

As they say, its only a matter of time....

I hope its not too long for DJR :(

ET,

keep your chin up. I feel the mighty DJR are close, maybe it will be Bathurst. VIP500 was a great start for us ford fans and if we win both Induros it will prove that Ford can handle the distance events.

Mate this TWRA thing cant last forever. Look forward to another big in 2003 from the "Rat"

Go DJR

Dicky your the true Aussie legend. ;)

Coming back to F1 for a moment, I belive that Minardi will run Cosworth engines next season as customer Ferrari engines are just too expensive for Paul Stoddart's team. Sure, we would all love Minardi to run a seriously powerful Ferrari unit, but we have to be serious - Minardi barely got through the middle part of this season. If Minardi do run Cosworth engines, then I think its pretty likely that Mark Webber WILL drive for Jaguar next season, as some sort of 'trade'. And after the sudden astonishing improvement in Jaguar's performances over the last two Grand Prix, that may not be such a bad thing. Of course, I would prefer Webber to go to Toyota (being a Toyota fan - Watch out Ferrari Fan, give them three years). Toyota could be a dark horse next season with their powerful engines and revised (read: non-agricultural) aerodynamics.
Oh, back to Channel Nine - I'm hoping they lose the rights to the broadcast so I don't have to hear Eastlake's ghastly comments. He may be passionate, but he has no idea (ie. he has no opinion on F1 outside of what Alan Jones says).

I do like and follow all teams and hope for TOYOTA to do very well
,and they will as will HONDA .
I do have an ex TOYOTA world rally car here in my workshop and waiting for some parts to arrive before we can go and attack the forrest again in it
The only team I do not support is Mclaren purely for Dennis the Menis but I like to see Kimmy do well ,so confusion all around
On the subject of telecast, I do hope that whoever get the broadcastingrights ,they retain the services of Mr. Alan Jones.
Formula 1 WORLDCHAMPION 1980! this true champion has access to the F1 fratirnity full stop. and doors open that normaly stay very firmly shut, so the inside knowledge is allways there.

I completely agree about retaining the services of Alan Jones. I am interested in hearing what he has to say (but not that parrot Eastlake). And being a former World Champion certainly has its advantages...
I actually like McLaren, although I see where you are coming from about Dennis - he looks like he has been sucking too many lemons, and has the personality to boot. But I don't like Frank Williams very much... I just get a 'vibe' about him, but he has achieved so much in his career. In saying that, I like to see Williams do well (yes, it does get confusing!) As for Ferrari, I have no particular affinity with them, but I do like Rubens (doesn't everyone?), and I appreciate the work, skill and commitment they have put in to dominate the sport as they do currently. They deserve their success, even if the result of the Grand Prix is a forgone conclusion even before the weekend has started!
Now, this Corolla WRCar... That has REALLY whet my interest. Any details? A former TTE car perhaps?

i hear that foxtel and 10 are working on a proposal for the F1 in 2003. i personally, am hoping that they succeed because at least with FOX (if you take the way they show NASCAR & MOTO GP)you get to watch the races live!!
My only fear with 10 getting F1 is if they treat it like they do cart and show it that late after the actual event that its' not worth watching.

Goodbye and good riddance

Channel Nine might have upset formula one fans by screening parts of
Sunday's Italian Grand Prix twice (as we reported here yesterday), but soon
it will not be able to.

Today's edition of Motorsport News will confirm that Nine will forgo the F1
rights at the end of this year, with Ten seemingly the only contender for
2003.

And it apparently will be a case of good riddance, a Nine source telling the
magazine that when the decision was announced at a network sports staff
meeting, it was greeted with cheering.

Not only was it costing the network heaps but staff had apparently grown
sick of the "pedantic demands" of F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone, whom one
senior Nine executive described as "the hardest person I have ever dealt
with".
