Grahame, if you've got the tape I can copy it to DVD,
and looking at your location it will cost nothing
but your time to drop it off and pick it up

And if all that fails I already have the seaon so far on DVD as well as every touring car race from 1983 onwards (and some from before that) in the process of being converted.
Another option instead of using a VHS tape, where the quality isn't that great, if you already have a decent computer maybe look into buying a digital TV card for it.
I've bought a 3.6Ghz machine with 2x200GB hard drives, a large upgrade jump from what my old machine was, but a lesser spec machine would work just as well. My TV card is a Dvico Fusion HDTV DVB-T Plus, but there are many out there to decide from.
I'm still experimenting/learning using the computer as a replacement of the old VCR (which died), but so far the results are great.
An hours TV equates to a bit more than a 3GB file, up to about 3.4GB.
From that you can convert it to DVD and record on rewritable DVD's to watch on the telle when you want, basically a digital VCR. Or run a cord from the computer directly to the TV and use the remote that came with the TV card (haven't done this yet).
You can buy stand alone set top PVR's, but for the additional price of the TV card to go with the new comp that I was already buying anyway, it was the cheaper option at the time. I think the PVR's were around the grand mark when I bought my system, dunno what they are now but I'd say they are cheaper.
VCR's are dead technology, and the new PVR's are the way of the future.
I have had a few issues where the sound gets out of sync with the video on large files, but as I said I'm still learning and I think I've overcome that issue now.
Race 1 from China converted from it's original 3.7GB .TS file format using Auto Gordian Knot is a 2.8GB .avi file - I'm yet to recode/burn that on DVD to see how it looks on the telle, but playing the file on the computer it looks pretty dambed good to me, with no sound sync issue. It's the 1st file I've used that program on so far, as I've normally used the bundled software that came with the card.
Just some info to think about
CYA
P.S. I just use it like my old VCR - which using a VCR is apparently illegal to record TV shows so I've heard "on the grape vine" But guees what are the VCR/PVR's made for then ? that doesn't make "common sense" - to make/sell something that your not supposed to use cause it's use is illegal, but it doesn't really surprise me I guess
Also my card is supposed to record analogue signals like from a VCR or camera - I can watch them but it locks up when I hit the record button. I haven't looked into that issue yet.
