you little beauty!!! i watched this car all day struggle against the "special" commodores. this car has a special place in my heart. i have a poster of it that is signed by dick at baskerville 83, the week after the symonds plains round and it is the only one ive seen race in the flesh. sadly, gricey beat him that day. the car didnt win a race i dont think but that doesnt matter.

There were two livery versions of the Red Roo XE, the late 1982 blue version with the red front spoiler and "Palmer Tube Mills" along the doors, and the 1983 ATCC all-blue version with "Red Roo steel pipe" signage along the doors. This car later became the all-green "Greens-Tuf steel tubing" machine which ended up amongst the trees in the 1983 Hardies Heroes shootout.

I think the one that most people think of is the red spoiler with Red Roo across it - it certainly stands out more than the all-blue one. It will look great in 1:18!

Admin, will we possibly be seeing the both of these cars in the DJR collection??
Especially given that they had the two different rear spoiler setups?

Ed :)

This one has been a bit quiet on its progress, Any hints Admin on when we could see this.

I've polished my credit card and am waiting with bated breath - this is the first of the Torana/Falcon classic Group C models in a long time!

The best part is that thay would have to be getting close to the end of the XD, XE, so it could only mean that the XB, or the Mustang or even some EB's will be next.?

Bring em on i say:D

I doubt it. IIRC Biante were talking about releasing Johnson's ATCC winning XD/XE's (of which there were 3), plus there would be cars from Bob Morris (1981 Bathurst XD is worthy of release), Steve Masterton (84 Bathurst XE announced, possibly the 82 Bathurst XE may see the light of day), Murray Carter (82 Bathurst XE perhaps)...

Any others? :D

There's always a possibility of the Johnson Group A XE as raced in the Wellington street race in 1985 I believe?

well i think they should who do we have to convince!
the ESP was a very important car in history as it was the last of the V8's for a while.

I Didn't think of the ATCC winners, but i was refering to the Dick Johnson Collection when i said that it could be close to the end of the XD & XE's. for that collection.
But yer when you look at it there is more to come from this mold.:)

I might be wrong, but I'm thinking it will arrive just in time for christmas, 2005.

That would make it time for another DJR car as they seem to be released every 6months+ or so.

cheers. :)
