Thanks Richard!

A good comparison for the big three would be the Corvette Z06, Ford GT (40) and the Dodge Viper. All three would have strengths and weeknesses but I would go for the Vette anyday! I reckon it would be the best allround car.

Should I enter Lada as European? Seriously, I desire to own a Ferrari, but have owned and driven many Holdens (and one AU Falcon...what an awful car).

"GMs out to an early lead but here comes Ford and Europe"
(Hopefully it stays that way) :D

I'm an Australian Ford fan - there really are not too many Holdens that do much for me. I will say though that the 308 and 253 have been really good motors in various Holden's I've had.
BUT, I'm a huge fan of the GM and Chrysler muscle cars of the 60's and 70's. And I support two particular GM teams in NASCAR.
Basically, I'm a push-rod, cast iron V8 nut - long live them forever.

Yes, basically. Just thought I'd explain it.
I would though put Chysler ahead of the others in the muscle car stakes - the '68 426 Plymouth Roadrunner, '69 440 Dodge Charger and '70 440 Dodge Challenger are just the ducks nuts.

GM vehicles are top of my list plus some of the companies that they own as well Saab/ Subaru etc.
Love the GM American muscle cars of the late sixties early seventies.
Any one got some spare money so I can get a 69 ZL-1 Camaro:D

I havent heard of them. They must have gone out a long time ago

I love the Dodge Charger too, especially with a 426. Those engines are worth a mint now!

I see Ford is catching up in the poll. Not a good sign.

This poll is compulsory. I wont be satisfied untill all 1800 members vote! :D

Ford for me.
Whilst there are of course magnificent vehicles from other makes, I will always be a Blue Oval Boy. :)

I reckon there are a lot pf people out there who are Chrysler fans but like GM or Ford cars etc ahead of it, thats why theres hardly any votes for Chrylser up until now.

Have to be a bit of a fence sitter & go with GOODWRENCH3, I have personally only ever owned Fords, But there was a whole herd of absolutely Hornswoggling Chevs and Mopars etc in the USofA back in the good old days!! No matter how dedicated to a particular marque, there was plenty of opposition that could make your eyes go big on any given day if you were simply interested in sheer stump pulling grunt that could blister bitumen, rather than pretty much a pack of softly rounded plastic clones of recent history !!!: )

.........and an Australian version of that would be: HK 327 Monaro, any GT-HO Falcon & E38 Charger..........or HT 350 Monaro, any GT-HO Falcon & E49 Charger..........or LJ XU-1 Torana, XA GT & E55 Charger........or A9X Torana, XC Cobra (Nick) & ......damn, run out of Valos!:D Voted Pommie myself. Got a real soft spot for old Pommie wrecks.:)

Since not everyone is voting and not everyone looks at this forum everyday I decided to review the situation and change it to 30! :D

I hope to get more people to vote for this. Hopefully we might get a big number in the next few weeks.

Damn Ford they keep catching up!

As my sig suggests, Asian cars for me.
But I am a bit worried - the 'Asian' car category encompasses everything from Malaysia's Proton to Korea's Daewoo and Hyundai! How about placing Japan in it's own section - after all, they are one of the world's largest carmaking countries!

I grew up with Ford V8's in my family and thus became my preferred car - XW and XY GT Falcons etc. And of course the beautiful Mustang... I still adore the '66 Fastbacks...

Then I took a look at the car market when I was older and had a more objective look at what was out there, outsid of my traditional family preferences. Of course European cars are lovely (a 993 Porsche 911 Turbo would be my ultimate toy car), but I stumbled upon Nissan's awesome GT-R. It provides fantastic performance, has motorsport success pumping through its veins (or should I say, hoses), yet is flexible enough to be used every day. And it proves that you don't need a V8 for mind-blowing performance...

i have owned muscle cars from the top manufactures here in the states ford/mercury chevy/pontiac & dodge/plymouth. to me all manufactures have made some very nice body styles and powerfull engines but my favorite cars are from chrysler or mopar.
the chrysler brand has made so many diffrent body stlyles and engine displacements that there really hard to beat specially since there drive trains were bullet proof compared to the compitietion. when you think chevy first thing that usually comes to mind is corvette or camaro followed by chevelle, nova, impala s/s
for ford its mustang, fairlane, torino, falcon, cougar for mopar its one word "HEMI" thats enough to quiet the comp. there were so many great cars from chrysler starting with the willys 33 & 41 models 41 plymouths, 57-58 belvederes, furys
with cars like barracuda, valliant, scamp, dart, duster in the a body economy or performance versions were found. then the b- bodys
belvederes, gtx, road runner, charger, coronet, super bee, superbird, daytona charger, sebrings, these cars were installed with engines from slant sixes to small blocks 273,318,340,360,400
to big blocks from 383,392,413,426,440 then mopar has the big c bodys for luxury polaras, furys chrysler 300 with 383,361,440 power plants and finaly the popular 1970-74 e-bodys cuda & challenger models could be bought with six cylinders v8 318-340-360-383-426-440 engines with shaker hoods or six packs options. chryslers are really bringing the big money nowadays in the muscle car market here in the states. theres nothing like a drive in a big block mopar with monster torque for a great adreniline rush.
