What is with the exuburant prices for the Oran Park round of the V8's.
$45 for an adult on Sunday - then they are trying to slug you a further
$25 for pit entry. Gee, come on, surely they aren't that hard up for $$$$.

I totally agree with you - it was the same at E.C. more for entry but there were less big screens. The owner of O.P. can't be hard up as he has just or about to sell the site for squillions - so there you have it folks it's a disgrace. As for the $25 for pit entry why bother eveb going in the pit area ia shocking on V8 days you can barely move.

This might be the track they give up for Bahrain next year. Who knows what next, Africa? I think its better for the sport, though.

EC was approx $20 dearer this year than last. Its an expensive enough day as it is. I think there were a lot more people there this year than last as well.

People talk of the squeeze in pit lane...putting up the price reduces the squeeze, allowing the teams to perform to the best of their ability...after all, that's what we want to see...

Prices may be 20% higher than last year, but they are now on par with other tracks. Using the same arguments that people used against the China round, you'd expect prices at Sydney tracks to be higher than other places around Australia...

TBVX05...in the later part of 2006, Oran Park will be bulldozed, so naturally something will replace it.

Cheers

Oh I don't know Leigh, could make for an interesting race with a few more "Caterpillars" amongst the fray.

I went to EC and duly bought my ticket for whatever it was just for Sunday, yet when I went through the gates over by the drag strip they didn't even check it! Gees I should have scalped it:eek:

At least you get into the pits inclusive in that price. To get stung through the gate and then again for pit entry is just ridiculous. At most circuits what do you see anyway? The support categories are great, but from the V8 boys you mainly see cars with covers over them or closed garage doors! Not good value for 25 bucks extra in my book!

Makes the Drags look like good value, WSID charges $35 entry for the top fuel/alcohol meetings this includes pit access and not a car cover in sight.
You can actually stand around and watch them pull down the T/F motors and rebuild them after a run.

Just as bad as a day out at the footy, $12 for parking, $22 to get in, $15 for a pie/hot chips & coke. Total=$49 for 80 minutes of entertainment

Sandown is $50 Sunday with an additional $10 for pit pass...

For those with kids, only under 6's get in for free at Sandown, compared to under 11's at Oran Park...

Originally you said "no pit lane pass", which I thought was strange as I don't know ANY track that will let you into pit lane!
I understood paddock to mean the pit area. Can you please clarify what you get so it's understandable?
Thanks.

Wayne, I'd assumed he meant paddock as in the support area and pit lane as in the (rear of the) V8 Garages...

I remember at Calder, due to the way these areas were arranged, one could walk through the support paddock with general admission tickets, but had to pay to enter the V8 garage area (and yes, the actual pit lane was off limits).

On occasion they have done similar at Phillip Island, although these days you have to pay to get across the bridge...

Yep, you haven't lived until you've watched a top team do a fuel car between rounds. Then make sure you stay when they run it on the stands. When they crack the throttle on Nitro and you're less than 10 feet away there's NOTHING like it! :D

Gawd. If you want to race Caterpillars you will need more compulsory pit stops.. First one can be Engine/tranny change out and the second one can be the old "Holy christ, whats going on with the hyds? Better bump up the relief settings and hope for the best" stop. Third one can be for a software config...

And whatever you do, don't bet on the 994 loader...:D

Ticket prices for Shanghai were around AUD153 equivalent for 2 days - with grandstand seating, no paddock access. Consider that most Chinese earn nothing like folk in Australia and there is a new meaning to the word 'expensive' Thank heavens for a series pass....

The facilities for competitors and spectators were 'out of this world' a smany people may have seen on TV

When Nathan has a moment, we can post some pics of this meeting.

Wow! I would have thought the tickets would have been cheap to encourage more people to go. Either they gave away a lot of free tickets or the chinese worker is doing better than we all thought!
