There is a company called Exoto and they have a sister company called Motorbox. Has anyone bought this motorbox brand as I just want to find out if it is first class quality product. I have my eyes on a nice Porsche 959.
Thanks.

The only good thing that can be said about Motorbox's 959 is that it is the only semi-decent model of 959 out there. In terms of quality Motorbox's 959 is on par with late-90s Porsches from UT, maybe even worse since the air intakes are painted on and the wheels look like they came of from a HotWheels diecast. In sum, it's overpriced underachievement.

MANY THANKS for that Berut 76. They want big dollars for the 959 and thats why I ask about matchbox quality.I have been seeing a 959 every 4th morning and it has been on my mind for a while to get a 1:18 diecast. They sound so SWEET! I also have been burnt by UT with painted front air scoop with a Porsche GT1 so buyer beware. Thanks Again!

When this model first came out many people thought it would be on par with Motorbox's Corvette, which was quite on par with AA. When 959 proved to be a mediocre product, Tony K lashed out at collectors on a number of boards that they shouldn't expect an Exoto quality for a "measly" $50US. However, when collectors pointed out that 959 is not in the same league as similarly priced products from AutoArt and Kyosho, Tony K conceded defeat (of course, veiled under lots of rhetoric) and promised that the next Motorbox release, GT 40 would redefine the under-$50US price segment.

A 4WD 959 Porsche sports car in the early mid 80's was a big development. What was Ferrari doing??? Still painting there cars red.
I might be wrong here, but from memory the fastest road car title belonged to Lamborghini in the 80's and early 90's.

Ok Ferrari fan, I did a bit of research and to the best of knowledge, the 959 was the fastest car for about 9 months until the Ferrari F40 came out. The 959 did from 0 to 60 mph in between (depending where you read the info from)3.6 to 3.8 seconds. After 60mph the Ferrari took over. I am hopefully right with this info, but dont quote me.
Cheers from a One Eyed Porsche Fan!

Did you know that the fastest car in the world (official acceleration world record - from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.266 seconds !) is held by the Vertigo - a hand-made Belgian car powered by a superb V6 3.0 Alfa Romeo engine !!!
