well i have followed his career in bikes overseas, and in aust b/4 he went big time
although he has gone to ford,id still like to see him win at b`thurst , and he seems to be in a good team (just won QLD 500 ) .
considering he has already finished 3rd twice at b`thurst , it would be good to see him win for once .

...........go wayne

..........P.S.cant beleive i said that hes in a ford, oh well !
good luck to him .

Watching some old Bathurst highlights the other day and noticed Gardner running around in some Coke sponsored VRs and VSs might have even been a VP in there as well.

I would not mind seeing some of the Coke cars that he ran at Bathurst make it into production and onto our shelves. His Coke/McDonalds car from 1999 seemed to be a slow seller but it certainly looks great.

I've been on about this for a while and someone said because the 1999 one was a slow seller, they doubted they'd do one. Either his 1995, 1996, 1997 or 1998 one would be good, but preferably 1995. If you ask me, the Coke VT Commodore is the ugliest of his cars.

CC's did a gardner car. I think it was the 96 or 97 one.
I remember a time in 1996, when I was in year 4 and Wayne's neice was in my class. She came to school one day and gave me a whole heap of Wayne Gardner gear, signed posters, stickers from v8s and bikes etc. Still got it all too.

I too would love to see a Coke 95/96 VR of Gardner's but I think I remember Admin saying how hard Coke was to get along with when he did the 1999 car so he wasn't going to do anymore. :( I hope I'm wrong, please tell me I am Admin?

Cheers, Jason :(

I would love to get some of the earlier Coke cars as well. On the VP front didn't Win Percy and Russell Ingall drive the second car at Bathurst?

Have been a fan ever since watching a round of the Swan Insurance series on TV many years ago. The series was one of Wayne's first outings on the NSR 500 and the way he slid it around the corner at the end of the front straight was something to behold.
I would KILL to have those two races on video!

Coke is great in bourbon I Must say

Peter I remember him sitting in his race car at bathurst after a motor going POP and oil on the race track, he was just about to get out and BAM !!! as the nexr car spins out in the oil and crashs into him, did feel for him, was a great in car shot of him watching the other car coming, and all he could do was grab the steering wheel and hope for the best.

will be good seeing him at bathurst.

Cheers
