I still think we will see James Courtney behind the wheel of the Pirtekl Falcon in 2006.
We dont really know the full terms and conditions of the Japan GT championship contract he has.
BUT Hear me out.
Courtney signed with HRT way back in Feb 2005, if in the meantime he did a deal with SBR it would not do Holden or Ford any good for this info to be known until after Bathurst. Too much bad PR and too much presure on Courtney.

He did look pretty Dapa in a Red suit but he's too nice to be on the dark side.
BTW, Just how good are Porfessional race driver's. It's hard to judge when the whole grid is made up of good talent - but this may give you an idea.
Just before Ryan Brisco and James Courtney steped out of Karts (when they were still kids), a group of journos met them at a Go-Kart night at Eastern Creek Kart track. We all had a few races in the 13Hp karts and thought we were pretty good. For the last race of the night James and Ryan joined us in a couple of 6HP karts (less than half the power). I think they laped half the field.

A look at the Sandown lap times reveals an interesting story...The fastest lap time by HRT was done by one JC:)
I just hope he goes onto better things than V8Supercars...I still believe JB made a big mistake returning from the US. Done nothing since but play second fiddle OR drive for underperforming teams:rolleyes:
Cheers

Hmm...last time I remember the "fourth" HRT driver being quickest at Sandown was 1994....

I wonder what ever happened to that nice young man, you don't hear much from him nowadays :p :D
Seriously though I hope the SBR / Courtney rumours aren't true, I would prefer someone of Courtney's calibre was on the Red side of the fence..
