hi all.

just wondering, does anyone know of any sites where you can post models you want to buy, or swap? much like the buy sell swap section of biante some time ago. selling is fine thru biante auctions, but wanting something is different.

thanks!

Hi again to all,

Both the Biante auction and the Classics forum sites both have wanted to buy sections to post on .
However the classic forum site does offer Buy , Sell & Swap sections .
only the other day i came across some old print outs taken off the sadly missed Biante Buy , Sell & Swap section .
I have given the Biante Auction site a go but cant get passed the sign in section even after retrying registration again and again so i have given up on that one . please dont ask me to try again.
By the way my signature at the bottom which i have used since starting is for the benifit and praise of Craig Lowndes

If yougo on eBay, there is a section where you can Request items, I often use that and I get replies.
Of course you'll need to sign up, if you havn't already.

We started Buy/Sell/Swap years ago and when we made the Auction site, dropped it as a stand alone item and included a buy and sell and swap facility on the Auction site if you care to look under Car Yard and Wanted.

To be specific, go to ebay.com.au and look under the specialty site and there is Pay Pal, Want it now and ebay explained.

Click onto 'want it now'

does it cost anything to use this ebay facility? dont really want to use it if it costs $$ considering biante auction site has one already....

As a buyer, you should only have to pay the winning price plus the postage.
As a seller, yes there are set fees depending upon how you want your auction set out (how many pictures etc) and they also take a percentage of the winning bid price.
This will inform you some more of the selling fees http://pages.ebay.com.au/help/sell/fees.html

I've only been using eBay since April, for 30 transactions so far - 29 buy and 1 sale, including one buy from the UK.
I'm happy with it so far, although I have heard of some bad stories.

Communication with the other party is very important to a successfull trade I find.

One piece of advice, if the seller doesn't list what the postage charges are in the auction, contact them and ask the cost before placing a bid.
You have to look at the total price you will pay, which includes the postage.
Some sellers seem to have inflated "handling" charges incorporated into their postage price, and I like to find this out before bidding if it's not listed.
But in saying that the cheaper guy might not protect the item as well. I've had some DVD's come in bubble wrap bags and others just in a paper type bag - obvious price difference.

Basically if you have a question, ask it. Better to know before than be disapointed after.

I hope this doesn't scare you, as I'm very happy useing eBay and have picked up some realy good bargains.

I joined and watched some items before building the confidence to bid (getting to know the process) - now my missus regrets the day she introduced me to eBay :D

Also, I've found, many an auction is won in the closing seconds.

Give it a go, Good luck

Mostly the asian countries, (not being racist) but they take forever to post it and the items are not what you expect.

I know a person who ordered a Mp3 player from china and it took 2 months to get it.
