Just wondering if anyone from admin can answer this one. Or anyone for that matter...

What happened to the Biante Racing Legends? Are they still in the pipeline? Weren't they meant to have come out a couple of months ago?

Hope I'm not the only one interested in these 1:43 jewels. :o

We have these all under control, but getting ALL the tooling ready is our first priority.
Was in China last week checking them and the first two are right to go, with the next 12 in final checking.
Expect them to start in a few weeks, sorry for the delay, but once we start we have to have continuity.

There was talk some time ago that you had to buy all of the collection as they are released, is this true or not?.

Its up to you.
Depends if you want a "Collection" or just a couple of cars.
Stores will sell them individually, but to get the special "Collection Albumn", you will need them all.

The collection looks great admin. Think I might set up a standing order for these cars with my retailer. I would like to get them all I think. Even the cars from the other side of the fence!

thekid_600

i think i'll just get the ATCC and Bathurst Winners. If my guess is right, these models will come in different sized boxes (maybe admin can confirm or deny?) depending on where they came from (eg minichamps for sierras, autoart, biante) so they may not turn out as nice as i imagine them as a set.

plus i recall richard saying that there will be more to come after these initial 25. (mind you i think it was 24 until the 956 was added.) i'll have to somehow narrow my "Wants" down!! ;)

I'll be getting most Holdens and all the Brock Models (unless the Sierra/BMW/Volvo models are released!) :D

Admin,

I hope some of the minor issues with the 1:18 scale cars will be sorted and the 1:43's will be spot on??? ie the grill to the Moffat twin set being incorrect along with the goodyear sticker on Moffats car.... just some items to keep in mind

If you do not like them then save yourself da $$.
And if you have a comment to make, then please see me in private, I will be at the All FORD day this Sunday, so come and see me if need be.

I was up at my local model shop today, and they had 1D 1:43 in store for around $56.00......I am surprised to see it there as I stated by Richard they are being released tomorrow.

I decided to stick to the 1:18 scale.....but must admit this was tempting to say the least

Gee that sounds expensive, considering the V8 supercars of the same scale are usually around the $40 mark

Sorry you're so dissapointed Ian but you haven't got the whole picture.

Picked mine up today and while I love the model I have to say the packaging was pretty average - just a plain red Auto Art box which has a small map of Australia and "Motor Racing Legends" next to it.

When you consider how Minichamps and IXO packages some of their series (the Ayrton Senna and LeMans winners series comes to mind), I think Biante could have made the outer case much more interesting (even an inlay card with a picture of Conrod or the Dipper might have been nice).[/B]

It's actually different window opening to the standard Autoart boxes. Compare the two. As the cars will be from different eras and race series it is the only way to have one standard packaging for all models making up the collection. Minichamps and iXO can have different packages as all models come under one theme (Senna and LeMans winners). We don't have that option (can't have a car that raced at Winton in a Bathurst box).

Originally posted by jager I also thought there might have been a numbered certificate, but that was probably expecting too much for a $55 model !

There IS a numbered certificate. Check with your retailer.

Just a curiosity question on this Moffat XY. Why this particular car? OK, it's #1, meaning he won the ATCC the previous year, but it's not like it's a Bathurst-winner, after all. I'm also assuming that as PB was wearing #1 the following year, this particular car didn't win the ATCC for '72 either? So, apart from being a classic in it's own right, what did it do? Not being nasty or sarcastic, just curious as my Moffat knowledge isn't great.:)

Yeah it seams strange that its the first one released, the 65e should have come out first! Same goes for Johnsons Zupps Torana, why is that coming out? Ive got the minicar so I wont be getting that one!

OK, that explains why this car wears #1 but not why it's the first Moffat model made. What did it do besides not win Bathurst?:)

I reckon its to spread them out mixing em up so as not to release all the winners at once ie 65E, 64E, 28C just to help keep the interest going...also Bathurst Legends doesn’t necessarily mean winners...in my view it means Moffat, Brock, Johnson, Richards etc and the Cars they drove so its not unusual to see the No1XY...finally wasn’t this car meant to make way for the phase IV but Moffat was forced to keep it going in the 73 ATCC season...tho I stand to be corrected on all points

rex555
11-11-2005, 05:34 AM
Considering that the Moffat No.1 car is actually Item No.2 as listed on the site, could it be that the cars are going to be released in the numerical order (roughly) that they are shown on the site? This would depend on manufacturing/delivery times etc but would mean that the Leo Goehegan Holden FX would be next and first Holden.

Just wondering out loud, happy for admin to correct.:D

Your right...got Bathurst fixed in my mind as i'll be after the Bathurst winners....still the point is it suggests that the whole series is about the drivers and the cars they drove...even though there are similarities with, lets say, the current 1:18 Moffat collection, there may possibly be releases only in the 1:43 range???

Loved the model, I think it looks better than the 1/18.

Looking at the list, there are a few Bathurst winners amoungst them.

Any reason these arent simply in the Bathurst Winners packaging?

Either is fine, I just want the car but the collections seem to be getting a little mixed.

I must admit I am tempted to sell a few of the 1/18s I have that are also going to be released in this collection and by selling 3 or so of them it will pay for the first 25 in this series...

Anybody else have/had these thoughts? The cabinet is getting pretty full with all the 1/18s I have and I saw the 1D Moffat car today and it looks great!!

I have counted 4 cars that are Bathurst Winners in this collection so far.

I asked Trevor a long time ago whether he intended making all the 1:18 releases in 1:43...he said that Biante intended to...so hence why I collect predominantly 1:43 with the odd 1:18 of vehicles that strike a chord with me:D

Hmm it is a decision I need to make soon I guess. I love the 1/18s but this series has cars that I would not buy in 1/18 due to cost / space, at least in 1/43 they are more affordable and this would be a great collection looking at the list - plus I believe there are more to come in the list of 25 so has the possibility of becoming a great display of cars.

Might just keep my Brock collection and Bathurst Winners in 1/18 and sell those that are released in this series as they come out.

Not sure why the Brock Porsche should surprise anyone - it was a significant driver pairing at a legendary track, in one of the best racing cars ever built. There weren't any Holden parts on it, but it still managed to do quite well.

the Moffat #1D looks sensational!!!! the red box makes it stand out from any other 1:43, with the rounder window cutting. The detail is great!!! finally!!!!!!!

PS why doesnt the 1977 moffat twin set have an allocated BRL#? Nor the 1976 bathurst winning torana. not that it matters i guess. the moffat 1D had no indication it was BRL #2.
