I went to one of the best day's motorsports event I've been to in a long time. The Speed on Tweed festival is situated in Murwuillumbah on the Northern NSW coast.
It had a great selection of historic cars such as a Jaguar D-type, a Porsche 356a, a couple of Gt40s and John Goss's 74 XA Bathurst winner. It was great to see Gossy take the XA for a burn along the streets of Murwuillumbah.
The whole concept is similar to Goodwood where historic cars go on a sprints around a very tight street circuit.
They had a great turnout of drivers include John Goss, Bob Holden, Vern Schuppan, Geoff Brabham, Kevin Bartlett and a couple of the modern generation making an appearance namely John Bowe and Steven Richards.
For all you Southerners who enjoy Historic racing it would be well worth your effort to come up next year to see it.
