Theres only a few engines that have been made into scale models. I don't know whether they are easy or not to get development approval, but I have an expression of interest in the engine from my car which is the RB26DETT from a Nissan Skyline GTR....
some pics found here, although its been dropped into a 260Z:

So far the Liberty Classics 1:6 scale engines haven't been anything to write home about. They are all out of lumbering American cars.
I'd rather AUTOart (or a higher spec company) do a whole series of high tech engines like those found in the GT-R, WRX, LS430, RX-7. Other engines of interest could be some of the more famous V6, V8, V10 and V12 engines used in F1 by Honda (88, 89, 92), Cosworth (70s, 80s, 94), Renault (77, 89, 92) and Ferrari (91, 02).
I think there's also and international award for the best engine of the year. I think the BMW V10 from the current M5 took out that award for this year. So more worthy engines from this list could be modeled also.

I dont think so. Liberty are doing proper engines if you want Jap craps go somewhere else!

1) The Halloween pumpkin on your front porch has more teeth than your spouse.
2) You let your twelve-year-old daughter smoke at the dinner table in front of her kids.
3) You've been married three times and still have the same in-laws.
4) Anyone in your family ever died right after saying, "Hey, watch this!"
5) You've got more than one brother named, "Darryl."
6) Your Junior/Senior Prom had a day care.
7) You think the last words to The Star Spangled Banner are, "Gentlemen, start your engines."
8) You lit a match in the bathroom and your house exploded right off its wheels.
9) You have flowers planted in a bathroom fixture in your front yard.
10) Ya can't get married to yer sweetheart 'cause there's a law against it.
11) You think loading the dishwasher means getting your wife drunk.
12) Your toilet paper has page numbers on it.

Hmmmm typical Jap car driver!
The engines that Liberty are doing are US engines, why should they do Jap engines for!?

yes i suppose it may be a bit hard for liberty to make japanese engines as they are only used to making dinosaur type american engines, they have to be big to make power.. the japanese engines would be far to intricate to produce and would have to sell for a higher price to cover costs.

Topaz,
Each and every one of those lines could be preceded by: you know you are a redneck if....
This thread was about modern engines. Why some members chose to let it be a vent for their racism towards the Japanese or general lack of awareness of late 20th and early 21st Century technology, I don't know.

As the thread is titled 1/6 scale engines, I will put my 2 cents worth in and say that I will be buying one of the Hemi supercharged drag racing engines as they seemed to be in just about every drag car in the magazines I bought as a kid, so for the memory lane trip alone one of these engines would be worth buying.
As far as the US dinosaur Vs Jap riceburner debate is concerned, lets not go there, it causes too much emotion for each party concerned. If you like a particular style of engine buy the model, if you dont like a particular style of engine dont buy the model, but dont criticize those on the other side of the car park!

the U.S. " dinosaur engines " were originally designed to lug around 2 tonne plus of heavy guage steel not 1200 Kgms of tin plate and plastic like most Jap cars so obviously somewhat different types of engines and configuration for different times , but even in todays times the so called "dinosaur" engines are still popular (that is if you can still afford to run the buggers:D )
The liberty classic engines are therefore going to appeal to many people who appreciate classic road and race cars and there are plenty of those , having said that I think there is a need for some model manufacturer to satisfy the younger generation or those that prefer the Jap cars and there are increasingly plenty of those , my son is one of these .
Cheers Jim .

thanks guys for not turning this on me and giving a big "FU" to the Jap cars....
I didn't grow up with those 'big block' and 'HEMI' engines, I prefer Jap cars to Commodores and Falcon's etc.
If an RB26DETT engine was made to scale, I'd buy one because its the engine from my style of car, thats all I'm saying :)

HAHA!! Great comeback that.
Personally, I like to see a 13B or 20B rotory done so you can see the workings of it.
