1986 was the infamous year. Oxton was the co-driver in '85. I don't have a scanner at the moment and all my earlier photos haven't been digitised yet. Have you tried the web?

Try Autopics (http://www.autopics.com.au/cache/item-949public.html?cache=no). Another (http://www.autopics.com.au/cache/item-3156public.html?cache=no), one more (http://www.autopics.com.au/cache/item-3155public.html?cache=no), and the other team car (http://www.autopics.com.au/cache/item-4901public.html?cache=no)

Cheers

I know the guy who took the photos of that Moffat crash.
I have a copy. There was nine in the sequence, starting
just as the car has the rear right wheel on the dirt and
ending with Moffat out of the very crunched car just on
the entry to the esses.

Then hid hid behind the wall on the outside of the track beacuse the fans gave him a real rev up.

PB should have slapped him. He didn't listen all week, the broken oil cooler was the least of their problems.

I know, the pics already posted are as it raced. It had the MOBIL 1 logo in black on the front lights that were painted out in white......

This is the car after it was converted to a VL and raced.......... and sits in our garage today.

yes i was thinking great photo and you have answered my question about where it was taken ,it looks like someones backyard.
Im after a photo as it looked at bathurst as a VK in 1986,did the the front indicators have half the N and all the E from a bridgestone logo on then. It would probable have to be the right side.

As a collector of all the brock biante cars i envy you for having a 1/1 example.

I have a theory on this, looking the images Leigh posted the sister car has a Bridgestone logo on the front guard just behind the indicator and the 05 car doesn't appear to have it. Is it possible all the 05 images are "post" Moffat stack and they didn't re-apply the Bridgestone logo?

Car 05 definately had Bridgestone on the front guard as Moffat crashed it.
It also ran onto the indicator as well. Aust Airlines was on the side of front bumper.

On page 127 of the Great Race book, 05 is out in the first practise session with NO bridgestone logo on the front of the car. the indicator was just white.

however, on page 177 when Moff drove it (when he praged it) there was a Bridgestone sticker that draped around the corner so that the "...one" overran the corner of the indicator lens. This was the series that Rob was referring to I think. Of course, the other side had "Br" on the lens.

Later when the car had been repaired, the Bridgestone logo was set well back and did not wrap around the corner at all. In other words the indicators were just white.

Thanks Rob, brings back painfull memories! I'm still sure Ford paid the bespectacled one to stuff Brock's chances that year.

I reckon, he really stuffed it up in '86. A great car that could have easily won (how many times have I said that?)

Hmmm, all this talk about the car..... we might just have to get working on it and convert it back to 'as raced'..... it's sat in my mates garage for 5 years now and we hardly drive it.

I know the guy who took the photos of that Moffat crash. I have a copy. There was nine in the sequence, starting
just as the car has the rear right wheel on the dirt and
ending with Moffat out of the very crunched car just on
the entry to the esses.

We might do a bit of a web site about the car and our work to convert it back..... do you think you could have a chat with your mate and ask him for permission (ie acknowledgement) to use his photos?

Can I buy it please.....????

johnp2002
14-12-2005, 01:20 PM
sure..... it will be for sale once we have finished it......

adhowie
14-12-2005, 06:45 PM
only $150.00 in the end

johnp2002
14-12-2005, 07:07 PM
no it did not sell......

the seller has it and has offered it to me. I believe that the bidding process was not followed as all of my bids were 'magically' ramped up and I bid higher than that.

I don't think it would be too hard to register under another name and 'dummy bid' (eg real estate) to ramp up the price.

You only get caught out when it doesn't sell.

I emailed the seller direct offering to buy it for a fair price but he would not set a price. I emailed him prior to the expiry of the auction and he replied after the auction. He plainly had not sold it.

If you want it I suggest you contact him direct as I did and buy it. I am sure he will take your money.

if he wants more he should start higher

I will ask him. But it might be better if you contact him direct. I can give
you his email address if you like?

Unfortunately for you he sold the rights to ACP - Publishers of Motor/AA etc.
You will have to ask them for permission to use the photos.
