Does anyone know of any model stores that still stock any 1:64 scale Johnson LJ XU1's?
The only place i knew that did just sold out.
Thanks. Trav.

Nah they would be all gone by now. On ebay they come close to $30 which means they are pretty hard to come by.

Why is the 1:64 Johnson Torana so popular when the 1:18 example of the same car wasn't that popular when it was first released and still doesn't seem to be that sought after.

Why pay $51 for the 1:64 when you can get the 1:18 for $100 ?

I think they are both worth only $51.

I waited and only paid $85 for my 1/18. It's now one of my favorite Holdens in my whole collection! I'm hoping biante will one day do a limited run of Dick's 1975 Shearers Menswear XU-1 - it was #17.

AS the minis aren't a limited run...it suggests to me that they'll likely go into production again in the near future..so its just a matter of waiting;)

Give it time mate and some of these cars of other drivers will eventually be made as there have only been a very small portion of Classic Tourers modelled in comparison to the amount of touring cars that used to grace our racetracks .

Bond XU1 is already on the drawing board so there's an XU1 for you that's not a Brock Torana .. ;)

I don't know why the 1/18 Johnson XU1 wasn't popular because I think it's a little beauty but maybe Dick's fans didn't appreciate the fact that it was a Holden :p , I wonder how the Moffat A9X will be taken by the Ford and Moffat fans when released ?

Probably the same way Brocky fans took to his Mobil Sierra

I got the Mobil Sierra. I have also thought about Dick's 1:18 XU-1, but haven't seen it at the bargain prices that others seem to have!
If I did I think I would probably get one.

Ive allready got Dicks Torana in 1:64 and Id get Moffats Torana and Brocks Sierra in that scale if it comes out. I also hope they model the Brock / Moffat 1986 Bathurst car as well.

I didn't buy Dick's XU-1 when it came out as it wasn't #17 like all the others.
For instance I collect all Juniors #17's and add them on to the same display as the cars Senior drove. I'm into the whole theme thing and the cars of the past 5 years fit seamlessly into that collection - more a DJR thing than DJ.
But the Zupps XU-1 is a ripper model and I'm glad it's there.
And one of these days Biante will do the 1977 Bathurst XB and that was #13.....
As for the '86 Brock/Moffat VK, that one will be in my Moffat collection!
