Dick back at the Mountain in Barra Racer

Just read in the Herald-Sun newspaper in Melbourne that Dick Johnson will be driving the all new Barra Racer at Bathurst for some demo laps.
This rumor has been going around for the past week or so and it appears it was true.
Looks like Bathurst just got that little bit better !!!!

Perhaps a few laps will provide Dick with the incentive to have a drive next year in a THIRD DJR car. If Brocky can do it, King Dicky can!

After the QLD fisasco of 2000, i think Dick is retired from racing for good - thats if he stays true to his word that is.

As a life long Dick Johnson supporter, i hope it doesn't make a come back as i can't remember anyone who has done it successfully.

He has had his time and now its' time for someone else.

I just know that looking at the pic on the DJR web site that this car looks the goods.

This car looks great, and I am a red and white man. I did the same put on the background.

Is'nt it funny how the new XR Falcon front end mimic's the front end image of the 00 motorsport car, (ie the 00' cars had the black painted around the headlights giving them a completely different look from all the other XR8 racers) and now the new BA Falcon headlights are almost the image of the black out line of 00's car (size and shape).

Maybe the Ford boys were trying to tell us something when the painted the 00 car last year. The bonnet bulge looks great this car says I am a race car and I mean business, hopefully they can get it together next year.

As for the VY, looks like I might be trading the commodores we have for XR6T's this time around. With the exception of the VYSS the rest of the line ups fairly ordinary. Never thought I hear my self say that let alone write it.

Maybe its the fact that the XR range looks similar to the 00 motorsport car (front end) that has attracted me, and maybe that was Fords intention all along. If it was its working.

i love the new barra falcon... and almost everyone i know doesnt like the new commodore, or the new clubsport... all i can say is HOLDEN ARE GOIN DOOWWWNN!! :D

Well initially I did not like the look of the new falcon range.

Its been growing on me, particularly the new XR6T with 240kw of grunt....and of course the XR8 with 260kw.

The test car looks awesome...I must admit. Well done Ford.

I hope the car is competitive on the track and the street, as Ford desperately needs to reign in the General.

Car 17 11th Fastest 2m10.65s
Car 18 8th Fastest 2m10.21s

Qualifying
Car 17 22nd 2m10.59s
Car 18 15th 2m10.15s

with the top 25 cars under 2.5s and the likeyhood of people being able to have clear laps, I don't believe that DJR are THAT far off the pace!!!

As Larry Perkins used to say "the championships is mearly testing for Bathurst, ....... people always remember who win Bathurst, but the championship is a lowely second to Bathurst"

Go DJR, looking foward to seeing Dick on the telly in Barra at Bathurst, 8:45am Sunday morning !!!!!!
