Well i see Classic Carlectables is releasing ANOTHER Lowndes 888 car in 1:18, 1:43 and 1:64 because he came 2nd in the championship. Dont they think 2 Craig Lowndes cars for the 1 year was enough. This is what annoys me with them they dont care about collectors all the car about is the $$$
This is why Biante is #1 in my book what do you all think?

dont you mean 3, there was the Eastern Creek win car aswell ......wonder if they will Sandown 500 win car., I admit 2nd in the championship is not worthy of another model car unless he was a team mate to the championship winner, but personally I dont care, dont collect Fords or Lowndes cars, but there is alot of people who do and a quite a few will buy that car

so what, if you don't want it don't buy it.
Maybe it's because some people will want the complete set of the Ford 1-2-3 2005 Championship cars.
Anyhow it will probably be done in very limited numbers.
I'm sure Biante have released a couple of times the HRT cars in the same year.

This is only the second 2005 Lowndes car in 1:18, the first in 1:43 and 1:64...
Still no sign of a 2005 Ellery car though:rolleyes:
The ones they released earlier in the year were "show cars" not "season cars"...

I don't have a problem with CC releasing umpteen versions of the same car,it's some of the CC forum members who hypocritacally accuse Biante of milking a mold when CC do exactly the same thing!
I would gladly buy season cars and Bathurst cars for every year for Brock if they made them!(78 A9X championship car would be a nice start)
Cheers,
Tony.

I have no bias towards either manufacturers as they both produce great models but I think Biante can afford the occassional double up on certain cars being for seperate achievments as generally speaking they provide a much broader range of diecast than Classics do , so therefore when Classics double up on models it's more obvious because they clearly don't manufacture anywhere the same volume or variety of models as Biante do .
Once Classics gain more diversity within their releases they too will be able to get away with doubling up but at the moment I don't think it's doing them any favours , too much of the same thing when you only produce limited types of product will surely gain less interest than having a wide range of goods available .

Ohhh well, another Lowndes 1:18 - ORDERED !!
No good of collecting Londes 1:18's and not getting this one "cos i already have 2 other 2005 Triple 8 cars"
This one i believe features the newly designed rims by Triple 8, so atleast it has SOMETHING different !!

I can hear the Defenders of CC dignity amassing arms against this claim already mate...:D
only problem I see with it is it reducing the value of the cars later..
IE the 8500 2003 Ambrose cars they produced ....
or the Team Perkins cars for the last 2 years that are identical sept for the number and drivers name....

yeah but thats not CC's fault, they are giving people what they want.
they do it all the time in NASCAR, cars very similar year to year and the cars still sell like hot cakes.

any pics of the Lowndes 2nd in championship car?
I'm really curious if they updated the wheels from the normal Oz 5 spokes to the shiny 8 spokes. for me, i expect the following from the new car or else i wont buy it....
- new 8 spoke wheels
- blue head lights with havoline on them
- caltex logos next to head lights
im a mad lowndes fan, but even i'll have to seriously consider before buying..... i reckon the initial pre season 888 cars were a mistake.

I can't see the problem, or how CC "don't care about collectors". Is this not another model for you to collect if you wish? It offers another variation for those into variations and also allows new collectors to obtain a Lowndes model if they missed the original issue. All good in my view.

I reckon all the one-eyed CC or Biante fans should get off their soap boxes. They BOTH "milk" their molds - normal business practice. A good example is that Biante 1/18 HRT Twin-Set of (whichever) Kelly after Shanghai & Eastern Ck(?). Same model, different bonnets, big price-tag.

Plus the other couple of hints I dropped, Pit Stop Lights, Roof Vent, Different Rear Wing Endplate Logos, NO Fuel Filler Inlet Plate on either side, Drivers Door Window Glass as well as Window Net & the Big Pond Race Stickers on the doors, If they want to make it a truer rendition of the actual car ?? :)

What I'd like to see someone do is the Lowdnes Bathurst car without the front window as a reminder of the incident with the stray wheel. That should make the model stand out in the lineup.

Heyu and while they have the mini hammer in their hand they could smack the left rear guard to crinkle it a bit and depending on their desire, reach under and break the watts link bolt and shift the axle off centre.....:>:>:>Look a treat!
