If you are after the individual perspex display cases I spotted them at Hobbyco (Midcity Centre in Sydney CBD) the other day. Didn't catch the price but a quick phone call will reveal all.

If you're after seperate perspex cases the HSV LIONS DEN shop's at Westfields Parramatta and Mt druitt now have them back in stock. They are the autoart series at $25.00 EACH. There is aslo a different style of case from Ultra pro $30.00 (far superior) with a 45 degree angle on the base for a more effective display. They are aslo a stackable and wont slip off the case it's sitting on. The base fits snugly on top of the cover of the case underneath when you stack them as i do and the lid locks into the base itself, However i have only seen these at Top Hat Quality Gifts at Hornsby and Macarthur square...happy hunting.

yeah the ultra pro are alot better than the autoart ones and are a fraction bigger too.

If you are having or getting a decent collection of models, maybe a purpose build displaycase is not so dear after all.
My new addition displays 216 models sideways on and doing the math of $25x216=$5400! if I would have gone the route of individual plastic display cases.
Never mind the stacking drama's and possible damage to models with a 'tower' falling over!

You're absolutley right about the cabinet, but with cases, the idea is not to stack them high enough, 5 is plenty. i buy the seperate cases because i cant fit a cabinet in the room i want my cars in. and as i've said before on another thread about this topic, it's my preferred option. with respect to your collection ferrari fan, i dont think i will ever collect that many cars anyway and if i do later i'll give the cases to someone who wants them..i've given stuff away before so it wont be a first.

I think theyre still open becasue the people that run shop also run the macarthur square shop. i just wish a LIONS DEN SHOP would open out my way so i dont have to keep travelling halfway across Sydney to get the stuff. Congrats on the concept van Gough, i hate you even more now. you've lost my vote.ha ha
Silly question, but is as nice in the flesh as i've seen it on the web??

I would love to get a sandman but the $300+ tag is bit steep for me... where did you get it from and how much was it. Sound like it was in a shop window. They look awsome!!! I'm jealous.
Sorry for going a bit off topic.

We should start a sandman thread...
I got it for $275 from a shop called Model Cars Too near Wynyard in Sydney.
It was just sitting there in the cabinent and the guy said he's had it there for about 6 months...I can't believe he didn't sell it earlier!:p
