For me the worst results of any kind of the past 12 months have been:

A Ford Mustang winning the 2005 Grand-Am Championship
Ford Mustangs getting 1-2 at Daytona
The Ford F150 winning a design award for its interior
Michael Ford holding the world record for the 3km cycle sprint
Linda Ford winning an award for the best single layer image in the photograph/trade category
Juan Ford winning the People's Choice award for his portrait at the Salon des Refuses
Ophelia Ford winning a seat in the US Senate by only 12 votes
The word Ford coming before the word Holden in the dictionary

2 come to mind:

Markko Martin crashing out of Rally GB 05 resulting in the death of long term co-driver Michael Park (the first fatality on the WRC scene in 12 years)

and

Richard Burns losing his battle with cancer. RIP to the 2001 World rally Champ

I'm lazy ... I didn't play any sport last year, but one of my resolutions is to do more bird-watching in 2006.

Just calm down a minute have a lay down and if you can; have a think, you leading with your Holden Badged chin and yer ,maybe, asking for it.
I for one think that it was pretty clever, well researched and I am a FORD fan.

Maybe someone could be "getting sick of your crap!"

Nick, Don't you own a Cobra?

Nick Short

I do own a Cobra and I do like SOME Fords (GT40, RS500 etc), but I wouldn't say I'm a "Ford Fan" or a fan of any brand really. All make plenty of crap cars too. I like the Holden homologation cars (L34, A9X, Group As etc) but have no interest in much else of theirs (unless they're doing burnouts outside my house). I love many competition Porsches, but the majority of yuppy road Porsches don't interest me one bit. Same with Ferrari (sorry FF, but I do like the Enzo), BMW or any other popular brand. So, in short, I don't prefer Ford to Holden, or blindly worhip any manufacturer. But I also took TBVX05's post to be tongue in cheek and not narky!

Anyway, back to the original topic, and I would say, without knowing any specifics, that the worst 5 sports results were probably from Pommy national teams.

Ingall winning the championship was lowest. Not the fact he won, but the style he won it by. Not his fault but Avesco's.

Michael Park is my no 2. It was a disturbing thing to see him go.

The Indianapolis Non prix makes no 3.

Peugeot, Skoda and Mitsubishi all leaving the WRC with Citroen withdrawing for a year. I doubt we will see Mitsubishi back, despite saying they are back in 08.

Rally Aus going is no 5. But seeing no. 4 on my list, it doesn't make it all that bad to occur.

Sebastien Loeb winning almost everything to win in the WRC.
Losing the Ashes to England.

Losing Michael Park in an accident and Richard Burns to a brain tumour... A sad year. Nothing else really compares as 'bad'...

1. being a huge parramatta fan seing them lose the semi final to north qld after claiming the minor premiership

2. loosing the ashes to the poms is still bitter in my mouth

3. and finally ingall winning the championship. Being a strong holden supporter i still remember when he stood on the winners podium after winning the 1997 bathurst saying "number one V8 Holden!!" now look at him, a pure sellout!

I always took Nick as a Ford fan...

Yeah I thought it was funny too actually and I am a Ford man.
I too took Nick as more of a Ford guy....but I know he loves his Porsche sports cars.
There was certainly a lot of homework done on that Nick - so well done.

My worst sporting moments of 2005 were -

Murphy's ramming of Marcos Ambrose at Bathurst.
The loss of the Ashes (but the series was a real treat to watch at the same time)
The Eagles 4 point GF loss to the Swans (although I was pleased for the Bloods too)
...did I mention Bathurst?? ....

I dont think that really makes him a sell out as such. He just knew that while you can win Bathurst with a Holden, only a Ford or HRT can win the championship :D
