Well i dont know if this suggestion is out of place nor is it meant to be disrespectful to anyone.
I would dearly love a model of Trevors favorite car be it race or road car possibly a 1:43 in a display case similar to the ambrose twin 1:43 with a background depicting Trevors life.
What is everyone elses thoughts????

I had wonderd the same idea myself and I think many collectors like the idea of a special model as a tribute.
To me, a tribute model should be based around Trevor's first model - the Ford XY Falcon GTHO. So, my thoughts were for a fantasy "historic racer" - a GTHO #60 with 'T Young' listed as the driver.

I suspect that Bev, Richard, Nathan & the team will almost certainly put some thought & planning into just such a project sometime in the future in rememberence of Trevor. It will be a surefire seller to pretty much every Biante collector I would think !!

It would certainly be well recieved and would be a fitting tribute.

Damn fine idea. I only collect 1:18, but would break this rule for a model tribute to the "father" of my addiction.

Like many of us, Trev was personally responsible for me collecting these cars. If I hadn't ever seen that Track Red GT flyer advertising it I guess I would have never started collecting.
Maybe for the 2006 Historic Racer like Jager had suggested would be a great idea and then the money will also go to a great cause.

James

i'd put my hand up for a Trevor model. i can already think of where i'll put it in my cabinet.
PS mounting it on a wooden base? just a thought...

Definitely would get one regardless of scale, car type, etc.
It's the kind of tribute piece that Trevor deserves for his services to collectors of diecast Australian cars

A minor detail that can be used on a tribute model can be the use of his 1:1 car number plates. BIANTE05

How about instead of a one off model something that will be regular , a lasting memory of trevor so in years to come new member will know who he was and his great work. maybe with a percentage of sales going the a chosen charity.
It could be a special range of models or a trophy for the historic cars .
Any one else got any ideas

i think a brass looking model like those 1:24 toranas, falcons, fb ute etc that you can buy. make them 1:43 and release one a year on about trevors birthday. could be called the trevor young memorial collection or something with procedes going to k9 or something similar.

Now that sounds like a fantastic idea, not your standard die cast kinda thing......either that or Action make Gold, White Gold and platinum plated NASCARs I reckon that would be good aswell. Did Trevor have a 1:1 collection?

yes trevor had a quite extensive 1:1 collection :D including toranas, falcons, monaros, commodores, chargers, mercs, and lots more. maybe a collection of all these cars with the same plates and stuff.

Good idea.
On a side note what are your thoughts on this?
Getting a 1:18 car "best car to be fitting"
Sending this car around state to state here in OZ "can work out a small file or something, so overseas collectors can send little notes to be place in it it they wish"
So then us collectors can write our user names on it, & then it be giving to Bev from us collectors.
I got this Idea from another forum, which is doing around the world diecast tour.
Let me know what you think?
Cheers

Whatever it will be I'll get one.
Bev should know what was his favorite car, a model in that would be perfect and the proceeds going to thier favorite charity.

Have had another Idea
How about a collection of photos or details prints of some of the racing models that match the cars already released with note on the car that way we can collect what we want. holden or the other cars, and it will be a continuing collection and a reminder of trevor plus a % to charity

I would love a black LJ XU1 / A9X Torana with the plates BIANTE05, with the number 1 on the side of the car, and 'Trevor Young' decals on the window...

I don't want to seem rude or offend anyone here on the forum, but,I think that you may have gotten things around the wrong way in regards to a tribute to honour Trevor's life and achievments. Instead of just making a model to satisfy our own "wants" or "desires",how about a publication of some kind, book, magazine or other,to tell the story of the man,his life and his hardwork that gave us what we have. This would be more of a tribute and give everybody a better appreciation of Trevor and his Dream.

I did say has anyone got any ideas, and thats a great idea, but i also thought it might be good to have something thats not a one off. If it wasnt for biante we woulnt have the vast selecton of aussie cars we have to chose from now for our collections
