1978 camped at the top of mountain, down the back was an area for what was called the circus where you took your car in did donuts etc in the dirt, anyway the local police sergent decided to drive in & park his car near the middle of the ring, this bloke came flying in backwards with his mate lying on the roof, the driver then spun the car round & hit the highway patrol car headon, later that night the holden supporters had dug a trench across one of the tracks & the paddy wagon doing its rounds got stuck in the trench ,2 cops got out the other tried to drive out whilst they pushed, cops asked for helped everyone were holden supporters standing there laughing & not helping, back in those days was all good harmless fun:D

In 1982 I took the child bride up to Mcphillamy park as I had gone the previous 5 years as all women are sticky beaks, she wanted to go. I had warned her to expect the unexpected and not to go to close to the scaffolding as large amounts of VB are consumed
and it's to time consuming to climb down to relieve ones self. At
about lunchtime young man wearing a Miss Piggy mask and dunlop volleys only was running around in only that and carrying
a can of VB. This person was sunburnt from head to ankles and
I have never seen a johnson burnt so bad in all my life. hehehe
While I qued up to see Brocky on Saturday I teased a couple of HRT fans trying to get them thinking Skaife isn't the greatest of all time and that there are other "Holden team of champion" drivers that are good out there.
Most Holden fans are TWR supporters but TRUE holden fans are CASTROL PERKINS race fans.
By the end of the race I had myself cheering for Richo jnr.

This Year, saturday around lunch time just before skyline behind the spectator mounds was what i could only say was a supercharged 308 powered rideon mower, The proud but very pi**ed owner was being interviewed by the media when he decided it was time to let them hear and feel his creation come alive, not relising it was still in gear turned the key only for it to jump 20 feet forward straight at the camera man, just managing to shut it down before it rode up the embankment into the crowd.
And they say the race is the best entertainment on the weekend.:D

There are one or two of our cows, but the rest are of the mountain.
