Just found a Biante DJR Sierra for sale on ebay for anyone who is interested with a starting price of AUD$99-00 and no reserve.
Makes a change from all the others that are starting at $350-00.
Will be interesting to see what price this sells for.

Another Sierra story from Bathurst. My Niece and her boyfriend made the trip up there on thursday. They went for a wander around Bathurst and found a small model shop. The boyfriend was talking to the guy about cars and the guy told them he had just sold a sierra for 200 bucks. He also had an XE falcon going for $250. When Matt the B/F told him how much Sierra were going for the model shop dude's jaw dropped.

Now both were bargins.

"too much information can be a dangerous thing"
...now look what they've gone and done

in regards to the $99 sierra...i opened the bidding on a red xy this morning at $1...where the bidding starts is irrelevant..its the reserve and winning bid that empties the wallet

I always look through ebay and sold looking for bargains and for the life of me i cant understand why people place bids on things when they have 10 days or more to go. There were the 2 Biante Castrol cars a little while ago starting at 1$ and no reserve on for 14 days and bugger me if the bidding didn't go beserk, it was up to $50 within 2 days. You don't win the auction on the first day. All these early bids do is push up the price. If someone puts no reserve on the auction they are obviously going to accept whatever price and they can potentially be a bargain if you wait untill near the end before bidding.

Adam,
I agree 100% with what you're saying. Theres a Heron White Clubsport for sale on ebay at the moment with no reserve and the starting bid was only $40-00 yet there are 6 bids already and all it has done is push the price up. I always wait until the last day and normally the last 2 minutes of an auction before bidding if a bargain is to be had.

The thing is I'll bet that some of the bidders have proxy bids of around $100.00 dollars and these wont be allocated by the computor until the next bid is placed. I do it all the time it allows your to place a safe bid at what you think the maximum should be and leave it, no need to check every day makes it easy if your bidding on multiple items. Also if the bids pass yours you will be notified and have the choice to buy back in or leave it to the suckers that will proberly pay too much. I paid $115.00 for a last drive Mclaren Senna in 1/18th scale, My maximum bid was $200.00 everybody bailed at $115.00 suckers, this car is worth $200.00 plus easy.

Speaking of suckers. Someone has a high bid on the Brock/Baird 05 1/64th minicar on ebay at $61-00!!!! This model is still in stock on the Biante site. Unbelieveable. Maybe they thought it was the 1:18th scale.

and on the last day of the auction, they jump on a friends computer and bid over what they want , hoping someone out bids them. If they get stuck , e-bay claims their $10 commission and no harm is done.
