Has anyone seen the new motor-racing paper called Racer. It is kind of how Auto Action used to be back in the early 80's. It covers not just V8 supertaxis but all of the other Australian motor-racing categories that are not AVESCO aligned such as GT's, the Australian Motor racing series, speedway, motor cycling and a fair bit of the club scene. This is a three or four page article on the Ferrari 430 challenge that John Teulan is racing in the GT series this year.

There is another one magazine that has just recently been released which the name escapes me but has an extensive section on karting.

And then there is a new classic car magazine that is produced in Queensland called Leaded.

All three are quite a good read.

Alfa, The other magazine is AutoRacing which is part of the KartMagazine. Racer isnt bad, put together by an ex AutoAction man, when Auto Action was good ;).... I think someone should bring back Racing Car News, darn i miss that magazine ;)...

I was lucky to meet the former Racing Car News at the Bathurst muscle car festival in Janurary.
" I think someone should bring back Racing Car News, darn i miss that magazine ...", amon, I could raise that question, to Mr Stahl for you, many people feel the same way.

SWRT, good deal, back in 87 i did a few Karting race reports for them , the first one i did was in the edition that had Tony Noske's Kalari VK on the front. I have most the editions, even the 60s ;)

THe Replica Porsche story in the new mag is good.

I think with up tod ate ness on every category now redily available from the web I think rags suchas AA need to re asses their position. I would go back to a monthly, makeit a glossy mag and use heaps and heaps of pix, and some well researched feature stories. When I was big in F1 the the F1 Racing mag was awesome for their features.
