This is what is in the Biante Newsletter - Quoted. (last paragraph)
How do they intend to ensure its limited to one car per person?????? Only from direct orders from Biante - surely this could not be policed from pre-orders in shops????

yep my local is the same and a good idea i reckon
stops sharks buying 2 or 3 and putting on ebay. Interesting to hear that all the shops do a ring around with each other to find out who is leaving there name at multiple locations! and then take them from there lists

The funny thing is that this came up in another threat where it was bombarded down for those ordering from two stores. What happens if you genuionly what two for all the right reasons and not to be an ebay shark???

That would be some serious breaching of privacy laws if it's occuring, the dealers have no authority to provide any of your details to anyone else and whats to stop people using different names or using other family members anyway ?

Yeah its only mainly to stop a certain few individuals ordering from 6 different shops and selling the other 5 on ebay to someone who should have been able to get it at RRP. So its really them doing US a favour and not breaching our privacy rights.

That was my first question - is it only from them that you can not order two. Surely this is the case and it does not extend to the distributors.

why would u want 2???
My brother collects bathurst winners AND the Brock collection, nothing else. If a brock car comes out AND it is also a Bathurst winner, he gets 2. It doesnt make much sense to me apart from the fact that if he has to sell a collection, then he has the complete set.
He has this arrangement with his dealer and there are no problems with that.

I spoke to a model shop on Saturday and they said they aren't getting the number of cars that
they orginally ordered. I feel sorry for the people who think they have placed an order for the
model and are definetely getting one when they might miss out.
I think it pays at times to order 2 of the same cars in case you miss out.

I think there are a few sharks out there, i came across a real jerk who was giving the staff hell at a lions den store, he had ordered a crazy qty & was selling them on ebay, when the store guy caught on he challenged the guy to either take his entire order there & then or loose it as he had them on lay-by, when he refused & tried to make threats to the staff guy who was very well liked by honest collectors, needless to say he didnt take his remaining cars & 5 people in the store at the time, & others who left their names in case of a cancellation got lucky, i ended up with 3 for a while but gave one to my cousin who is helping me build a replica A9X, so watch out for the sharks because they are out there;) ;)

Not really seeing as some people use the old "its for a friend" thing when clearly its not. But i guess most people are genuine in there intentions. Still im sick of having to pay double the RRP for a model that comes out because some twat bought one for profit to put on ebay.

?????
Lets just get this all straight...
Biante's email ONLY refers to BIANTE's website as having a strict ONE PER CUSTOMER...it is illegal for them to tell stores to do this! In fact if stores outside of common ownership collude, it would be a breach of the privacy act!
The funny thing is that this came up in another threat where it was bombarded down for those ordering from two stores. What happens if you genuionly what two for all the right reasons and not to be an ebay shark???
Cooper, This is a different issue...People were suggesting ordering from two stores to ensure they got one...what we said was stores counter-act this by ordering less (then telling you and me that Biante cut the order! Oh look, somebody has been told tjust that!) If people choose to own more than one, they are free to do so...nobody in the thread you refer was arguing against that! DIFFERENT ISSUE!
This issue (according to the cut and paste section of the newsletter) is about Biante setting a limit on their own on-line store, as they believe this is the fairest way to distribute their allocation...

Thanks - that answers my original question as I was unsure how far this went.
Second question then:
If Biante are saying that they are limiting the sales to one per person does this mean they will be holding stock back for this purpose. Does this mean not all stock will be shipped to the distributors and we will be able to buy from the website?
If so does it mean that at 2pm tomorrow we can start to submit ONE order direct from Biante through the website??

The Biante website is just one of around 150 retail outlets around the nation...They would put in an order just like any other "store" and receive their allocation. Once their allocation runs out, that is it...so this is not an opportunity to undercut the stores...
IIRC, there were around 160 models allocated to the website for the 78 Bathurst winner...I assume this will be increased a little given the increase in numbers being made, so from two o'clock tomorrow you will be able to purchase one of these...
Cheers

Dont know if this has been mentioned yet, i generally dont read the entire post...but on the "HSVLIONSDEN" site you can order 3 A9X's if you like for a $50.00 deposit per model . For the serious collector or investment potentiolanist. Just thought you'd like to know.

I have ordered three A9X beasties, one for a mate ( I will also "decorate" it for him , will be placed alongside his '78 ) one for my Brock collection and one for my Bathurst winners collection.
