Just looked at the prototypes and agree that yet again Biante has done a great job getting the body shape spot-on.

I know these are prototypes subject to modification.

My opinion is that both the HT and XA should feature clear lens covers for the front indicator/park units and the "GTS" and "350" badge placement requires amendment.

I also agree about the XA wheels - original fitment rims should be silver painted twelve slots with chrome centre caps and trim rings.

Hi Peter,,, my mate has a original XA GT 351 and that has Globe mags on it, so not being a Ford expert I'm not sure, but i would say they ere the standard rim on the XA's, maybe one of the Ford experts can shed some light...

my sister and her first husband........bought one new and it had the 12 slotters and they had the car until they were divorced 10 years later.
i remember many owners were removing the wheels and replacing them with mags etc and the 12 slotters were becoming valuable...in fact there were many occasions where theives were jacking up cars and stealing the 12 slotters around town....

other than that i dont know

the models look great...i cant wait

Can't find my XA sales brochure, but the XB GT did not feature a factory alloy wheel option.

And, just following on Terrine's message, the XB GT wheels featured a different centre cap arrangement to the XA, with the XB cap having exposed chrome wheel nuts and featuring a black and red "GT" logo on the dome.

I have to say outstanding cars. The XA look fantastic.

Globes had 3 releases. The ones meant for the Phase 4 and ended up on the Phase 3's. The XC Cobras all had Globes, Nick is that correct? and the XD ESP's had globes as well. I thought the XA's game out with the nice standard non chrome 12 slots.

To see the pics in question look in the 'new model showroom' section.
I would love to see on of those Red 4 door GT's with the black GT stripes made!

And a red 2 door GT with a rear spoiler, wheels immaterial......

Mustang1966, the XC Cobras all came with 15x7 Bathurst Globes, which were different (as far as I am aware) from earlier Globes, and different again from later ones, as available for fitment to XDs onward. My Cobra has the 8 inch Globes on the rear, which I have been told were only made as part of the later production run, ie not original. Oh well, but they are popular with Cobra owners...

Nick you are quite correct. The 3 groups of production Globes are different. I will chase up my friend who is clued up on GT's and Globes and get the full story.

I have been told that the later Globes even came in 10 inch widths, ie deeper dished versions of that 5 spoke pattern! Is that right?

Mate never heard that one for factory ford fitted globes. The Bathurst Cobras, did they have larger rear Globes, the rear wheel arches have been pumped a little as well. Maybe admin could tell us as he has a Bathurst Cobra.

They do sell Bathurst Globes, a little different to the ones ford brought out, maybe they came in 10 inch. Ya need big wheels under the coupe's Nick. What you Cobra running on the bum?

The Bathurst Special came with the same 7 inchers as the rest, which always looked a bit skinny under any Falcon hardtop! If you look at press pictures of the John Goss Special XB it was running 6 inchers, looking a lot like space savers after a double rear puncture! The first owner of my Cobra fitted the XD-era 8 inchers in the rear, which filled out the arches a bit more, but it was another Cobra owner who told me about the 10 inch Globes. My 8 inch Globes are quite deeply dished versions of the standard alloys, so the 10 inchers must be deep enough to put your head into!

Just had good long Gork at the prototype of the XA GT.I hope a few imperfections are corrected in the aspect of: (1) The Globe Mags have to go, because the XA GT was released with twelve slotters or a Mogul Five Spoke rim in a brushed finish. Illustrations seen in "Spotlight on Falcon GT's".(2) Paintwork the bonnet should be in Flat Black not Gloss.(3) Headlights look a little to big for the Grille. And for all lovers of the GT, I implore you to

**LOWER IT**

Don't Bore it - Big Block it.

....And stick a rear spoiler on it, or at least offer it as an option!

We had the real XA GT that this was measured off here at the warehouse yesterday and went over it comparing it to the prototype.

All of the differences you have pointed out (and a heap more) have been noted and will be fixed on the second prototype.

Remember, as always, this is the FIRST PROTOTYPE and we know what is wrong with it. The owner of the real car could not believe how good this model was even with the imperfections.

Dear Richard,
I hope I didn't offend you by pointing out the mistakes, but as an avid Ford collector & enthusiast of the past 15 years, I would hate to see the XA GT not produced true to life. We all know FORD means first on race day not first on rubbish dump!

Don't bore it , Big Block it.

No offence taken as I was sure none was intended.

Trust us, the XA will be well worth the wait.

glad to hear that the model will be coming out and problems are being corrected. Can't wait for the Moffat and Goss Bathurst winners.

Any chance the XB headlights could be fixed before any more releases? I've always believed they stick out too much.

This was mentioned a long time ago when the Brut33 came out.

Oops, I was wrong.

7Litre is correct about the Ford Falcon alloy wheel option, and I therefore stand corrected.

The "6-inch Mag. type sports road wheels" option appears in the Ford XY, XA, and XB sales brochures under the heading of "Performance Equipment" and not in the "Tyres and Wheels" section where I expected to find a reference. These five spoke alloys are listed as an extra cost option across the entire Falcon range, including the utes and wagons, and are definitely not the Globe Bathurst style of wheel.

Also, it would appear that later XA GT production adopted the centre wheel cap that was to become common to all XB GT models.

I hope Biante will consider doing a model of the four door sedan as well as the Hardtop ....maybe an XA GTHO version ??
