Minichamps have just released a model of the Porsche 911 convertible complete with 2 dogs (suposedly named Chicco & Kommadu - see attached picture). This has got collectors wondering whether :-
a) the dogs are a joke,
b) the designers in R & D are bored, or
c) Paul Lang or his wife own a Porsche and two dogs.
Anyone know the story behind this model and will we see Biante producing Jack Russells and Blue Heelers to go in the back of the Holden utes when they are produced !

Yer!!! Strange going on's at Minichamp. Are the dogs meant to be driving?????? It might be a story how the 2 dogs inherited all the money and bla bla bla........... What will they think of next, a model cat to put under your front wheel?

Toecutter; I do take offence to the cat remark!
I do have to be at all times correct and consider other forummembers feelings.
Either Admin or Toecutter please ammend this remark! please!
we have a lot of rescued cats that are like our children and do give us a lot of love and affection without any of our neighbours even knowing that we have them and no wildlife attacks at all.

The one thing I don't have to do for my cat is wander around the backyard picking up his turds so's it's safe for the kids to play, unlike our old dog or my parent's dog when we dogsit. The cat learnt to use a litter tray at 7 weeks, unlike dogs & humans. I'm toilet training my 2yo, in case you're wondering about this unhealthy obsession, & I like dogs, I just don't like cleaning up after 'em.

I think your taking life a bit too serious!!! As to say sorry for the remark, well....................NO. If you have cat issues, then maybe a letter starting like this, Dear Ed.......Care of Womans Weekly.
i'm not getting involved in this .
i'm impartial i've got three goat's
they don't bark
they don't scratch the crap out of furniture
and they fertilize the grass as they mow it

I had a cat and yeah i loved her... but other peoples cats annoy the crap out of me. Nothing is more insulting than walking out your front door in the early hours of the morning to find some drongo neghbourhood cat sleeping on your car then in a panic attack after hearing you come out it scratches hell out of your new paintwork from roof down to the boot lid with every claw on every paw!
moral of the story is... if u have a cat..fine :) but keep it in yer own property at all times or you may not see it again. :D
Biante did make a model of an FJ Holden ute under its Mint & Boxed label in 1:25 scale with wheat bags and a blue heeler in the back. Would have been at least a couple of years ago now.
Possibly this model is to do with some European theme. The Langs are dog lovers, but do not have a Porsche to our knowledge, although their engineer has one.
Biante's pooch rides around with Trevor in all his cars and even does research on some cars that arrive here...see pic.
As for cats the only ones we propose are C-Type, D-type, etc.
How could you let a dog sit in your car even if it is a Holden. I could not imagine getting into a car that was flea ridden, doggy smelling, and hair everywhere.
Conditions of entry into my car are posted on the window and include no eating, no dirty shoes, no dirty hands and definatly no animals, even though I do let my kids in from time to time.
Regards
Dave from Kiwiland!!
Our dog has not seen a flea since arrival at our place, is shampooed, brushed, clipped, drenched, vaccinated, pedicured, etc. to a greater degree than many people.
He has also ridden in the Bathurst special Cobra to all-Ford day and there is no evidence that he has been near the car.

On page 16 of the Minichamps edition 3 2002 catalogue there's a model of the 1965 Renault 16 with "Churchill" on the passenger seat.

SWRT, the 2 best dogs I've ever known were both Corgi-crosses. My parents old dog, Podge, an Aust.Terrier/Corgi cross & my old dog Sam, an Alsatian/Corgi cross. Both were very intelligent, full of life, nice natured & both made it to 15 or 16 yo. They also loved cars, especially softops, so they had taste, too. PS, they both looked like short-legged Alsatians!
Hey FF, I am a dog lover just as much as Bev. I bought my Wife a Jack Russell for Valantines Day 2 years ago. I am the one who feeds it, walks it, plays with it etc.... but the Wifes car is the only car she ever gets to drive in, regardless of how clean or hairless she is. If cars were made for dogs there would be a dog seat in them!!
regards
Dave from Kiwiland!!
Cars do not come with dog seats standard nor do they come with child seats standard, although some smaller 2+2 models would almost fit into this category, with the back seats designed for legless dwarfs.
Raz has a full doggy harness, which clips into the seatbelt point of any of the cars. In the back of the lwb model he can take himself for a walk during the journey!
Steve,
my corgi is a purebreed and are there any Queens model rolls royces with her corgies in it?

SWRT, Tan & white, I presume? I don't know of any Queen's cars with Corgis, but there is a gold-plated set out commemorating the Queen Mother's Jubilee by, you guessed it, Corgi.

A company called Spot On released just this model in the 60's.
Its a burgundy colour and reasonably readily avialable. Model number 260.
Had Queen, Phil, a driver and am sure the dawgs were there as well.
